12oz bottle warmed to appropriate temperature and poured into a snifter. Bottled 9/17/12.
A - Small dark brown head is the darkest I've seen. Head collapses to a small ring around the glass. This beer is the definition of opaque black.
S - Boozy bourbon is easily recognized. Vanilla, dark chocolate, molasses. The roasted malt is very complex. Little undertone of ripe red fruit. Wonderfully complex.
T - Very silky creamy feel right away. Starts with an ultra rich caramel flavor. Little bits of sweetness throughout but sporadicly. There is a tobacco flavor mid-palette. Somewhat burnt at times but smooth at another, a little more burnt later on. The richest chocolate finish along with a reminiscent flash of rich french vanilla cappuccino. Aftertaste as you would guess is forever lasting.
M - Full body, light carbonation, semi-sweet.
O - Very tough beer to identify the many many flavors. Am I drunk or just impressed because I'm now repeating myself? This little 12oz beer is to be shared amongst friends. I think this is a great beer, hard to even place in an Imperial stout category because it can stand alone at 15% ABV. Very complex beer that will make your bud light drinker cry.
