*Bottled served it at around 50-55 F to bring out everything.
A- Awesome dark mocha head no more than an inch in size that sticks around for a hot minute and then dissipates to a ring around the glass and stays there for a long nice drinking session. The beer itself is a pitch black liquid that pours thick and will suck the light out of the room. I love black ales that do this so I am a little bias towards a awesome black to say a clear lager.
S- So many things happening but the main points are vanilla, bourbon, wood, alcohol, carmel, and lots of other little notes that you just need to experience yourself.
T- Wow, just like the smell there are lots of things going on. First thing is the carmel sweetness and then the bourbon creeps in with a ting of alcohol coming on the back side of the sip. This is a 2012 Bourbon County so... I think the taste would even be better if I let it rest for another year. Once again just taste it and take it all in.
M- Probably the most incredible part of this already incredible ale. It is thick but with an incredibly unique carbonation that I think is given by the the illusion of the heavy bourbon flavor and the high alcohol. It just allows this to be like a sipping bourbon, but at the same time still a beer that has crossed lines.
O- Great complex beer that deserves your full attention and could possibly be one of the best imperial stouts I have had. I wasn't sure about the cost as it rivals dark lord (and I think Dark lord is over rated), but after the first sip it quickly became clear that this beer is worth every penny and I will run out and pick up the 4-pack tomorrow morning.
