A: Dark brown with a medium sized, creamy looking light brown head. Head stays around most of the time and leaves behind lattice work like lacing.
S: Chocolate, caramel, walnuts, tobacco, hints of brown sugar and honey. Wow, very complex and inviting.
T&M: Medium body with mild carbonation. The smell does not mislead. While dominated by the rich malt character, there is an underlying hint of herbal hop to help with the balance. Finish is nutty and fairly dry.
D: I really enjoy this beer. It is well made and consistent with the style. I like the depth of flavor and the way the different flavor elements compliment each other. IMO, this is one of the stand out brews from Goose Island.
