Pours a light straw color with a white head. The head was not a full head but instead somewhat thin.

The aroma on this is rather earthy, a lot of straw with some citrus/fruitiness.

The flavor has some lemon zest and a nice crispness with a little bitterness from the hops. This beer has higher carbonation than I was expecting. The mouthfeel is citrus but not too tart. Finishes nicely and leaves me wanting another. Not sure how many 6pks I would buy but give this to me on draft and I could drink all night.

Poured into my little used stange a clear lemon tinged light golden with a nicely formed half finger bone white head that clung nicely to the glass.Aromas are light with some mineral and toasted cereal grain mainly standing out.Flavors are lightly toasted with a hint of butteriness and lemon, there is a light smack of herbal hops in the finish. It's great for outdoor summertime activities so it's good for what it is.

Pours from the bottle a hazy lemony sunshine yellow with a creamy white cap of bubbly foam nestled nicely atop the brew. This brew even looks like summer in the glass! Aromas of crisp, husky grains, lemon zest and spicy, grassy herbal hops waft up into the nose. Fresh, clean and vibrant with fruity undertones. Nicely nuanced.

First sip brings a clean, grainy pale maltiness upfront accentuated by lemon peel and citric undertones. Vibrant herbal, grassy hops grace my lips with each sip. Refined and easy to drink on those all too hot days. A nice hint of bitterness finishes it off. An easily enjoyable brew.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy with a good flow of carbonation to tingle the tastebuds. I really enjoy this brew and I find it immensly drinkable on a beautiful summer day...seems like that is what the brewers at Goose Island were going for!

Hazy golden yellow brew with a thin retaining white foam lace.

Aroma is a touch fruity, with loads of fresh pale malts and some fresh cut grass lingering about.

Smooth, light and creamy palate. Thin- to medium-bodied. Sweet wort-like base of one-dimensional malt flavours. Thin, peach-y, fruity backbone. Uplifting carbonation. Thin, grassy, oily and herbal tea-like hop character that rides along the soft sweetness and into the finish -- it's a bit odd. Touch of dry grain in the finish too.

I want to really like this brew, but something seems off. Not off as in bad, but off as in someone forgot a brewing step. Not a bad brew mind you, but nothing stellar. Nice to see a brewery attempting the style regardless.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There is no mention of abv% but the back label does have a bottled on date of 04/07/10.

Appearance: Its body has a light yellow gold color with great clarity. On top of the body is a small white creamy head. The head fades fast and makes only a very little slick lacing.

Smell: The aroma has nice sweet bready notes with delicate fruity esters. I get notes of peach, banana and white grape.

Taste/Palate: I get all the same delicate fruitiness and mellow bready sweetness in the flavor as I did in the aroma. This light bodied beer has mild carbonation and a smooth light texture which is quite quaffable.

Notes: This is defiantly a great hot weather offering with enough interest for me to drink it any time of the year.

Presentation: 12 oz brown twist off long neck bottle with a “Best When Consumed By” date on the back label.

Appearance: Thin white lacing on the glass, head retention stays together for the most part. Bright pale golden in color.

Smell: Vague lemony grassy aroma with some herbal hop.

Taste: Malt is a bit one sided with a dry pale malt character and grassy dry at the end. Very crisp. Mild lemony herbal hop bitterness tames the malt without a problem, malt flavors seem just grainy more than anything else.

Notes: Nothing really pop here, easy to drink with some flavor. None the less an ok brew.

Pours a clear amber body, with an attractive, offwhite head. Nice patch lacing.

Aroma is restrained, with a bready malt backbone, and a hint of grassy hops in the background. More subdued nose than any other Goose Island I've sampled.

Taste is complex, with sweet malt up front, floral hops, and fruity pears and apples. Finish is clean and slightly bitter. Much more complex than the Reissdorf Kolsch I sampled earlier in the evening.

Still, not one of my favorite German styles, but this would be a nice one to have around.

12 ounce bottle, with best before dating on the label of 12-02-06, pours light yellowy amber, clear with some light bubbles continuing to rise to the top. White loose head, dissolving to a splotchy film with ample stringy lacing. The nose here is grassy and lemony. This a pretty light bodied brew, low hopping, lemony, notes of grass/hay, fine warm weather quaffer. Would be great with a summer lunch, salad, cheese, light meets, you get the picture....

Appearance: one inch head, clear, bright yellow in color, high carbonation

Smell: toasted malt, spices--perhaps honey

Taste: wheat, florals, a bit of malt

Mouthfeel: medium body, sweet with a bitter backbone, and medium/light carbonation

Drinkability: An average light and sweet Kolsch that is typical of what I would expect from a summer beer. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. A nice clean and light beer.

Thanks to Pawola22 for sending me this bottle.

The beer pours a very light, slightly hazy yellow color with a white head. Te aroma is full of wheat and grass, with a little bit of green grape mixed in.

The flavor is very similar to the aroma. I get a lot of wheat notes, which is the dominant flavor. There is also a little bit of grass and some grape notes mixed in, as well as a little bit of pepper.

Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Single bottle from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo. Poured into a stange, because the bottle told me so.

Light golden colour, a slight haze, with a foamy head that recedes into a thin ring. Visible carbonation.

Nose is light and refreshing - noble hops, pale malt, a bit of citrus (lemon, pear).

Light summer drinking, heavy on the citrus. The grain is a bit washed out, but unlike so many other brews of this style, the brew remains full-flavoured and doesn't taste watery, which is a big plus. Finishes with a touch of fruit flavour - pear and lemon, with sweet winning over tart. It's hot as stink out, so this brew hits the spot, although it's nothing out of the ordinary, it is still well made.

Were I in the position to have this on hand, around this time of year it certainly has a place in my fridge.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into unique Summit glass, which is the closest I have to a Stange. Bottled on 2/21/11.

Appearance: Mostly clear light gold with slight yeast suspension. Foamy stark white head at first, leaving some bubbly lacing.

Smell: Dry apple, pear, citrus and bread. Almost tart. Touch of noble hops.

Taste: Very dry malts with apple, lemon, bread and hay. Very peppery finish.

Feel: Moderate carbonation, medium body (fuller and creamier than it looks). Very dry finish.

Overall: Simple but very refreshing Kolsch. Can't decide if the very peppery finish is an asset or a detriment.

Had several bottles of this that were leftover from a party and thought it was an ok beer. Review of a bottle with a bottled date of 16 Mar 13.

A-Aggressively poured into a tall pilsener glass this brew is super effervescent with a tall large bubbled pure white head with nice staying power and good lacing. Clear and pale golden.

S-Grainy bready malt aroma with a bit of tart fruitiness. A bit of an alcohol/adjunct lager funky smell that I can't put my finger on.

T-Not a hell of a lot of flavor here but then again it's probably not really supposed to. Clean and crisp with a pleasant mild apple like fruitiness.

M-Light bodied with fairly high carbonation. Crisp carbonated finish.

O-Damn easy to drink. A very solid easy drinking summer beer.
