The floral hops are so strong in this, that the nose reminds me of a girly soap.

However, the floral tastes are not soapy at all, and compliment both the piney hops and the malt backbone nicely.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into IPA glass.

Appearance: Reddish-amber with moderate off-white head.

Smell: Grapefruit, caramel and spicy, herbal notes.

Taste: Nice malt backbone, mostly consisting of caramel. The hops are clearly driven by amarillo, with a tart grapefruit profile. Moderate bitterness, with some spicy, herbal and earthly notes at the finish.

Feel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Dry finish.

Overall: This is a very nice Red Ale that is both hoppy and balanced. Underrated IMO.

Fantastic reddish amber hue with excellent clarity. A fingernail of khaki colored head rests on top. Brussels lacing. Aroma of tropical hops are blending well with caramel malt and a woodsy note. The taste is comprised of sharply tropical hops with mango and passion fruit. The hop bitterness is tempered by earthy and peppery malt flavors. The mouth is moderately carbonated and chewy.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass. Bottled 27/AUG/14.

Appearance: Pours a deep amber ruby red with a lot of rising bubbles. About two fingers of off white head which settle into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: An earthy, floral, and juicy hop forward aroma with hints of grass, citrus, and caramel malt. Upfront earthy and floral hops with hints of grass and pine resin. Citrus hop hints of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, pineapple, and melon. Also some hints of wood. Malt hints of caramel, grains, cracker, and yeast. A nice earthy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, an earthy, floral, and juicy hop driven taste with notes of grass, pine, citrus, and caramel. Floral, earthy, and herbal hops upfront with some notes of wet grass, pine resin, and wood. Citrus hop notes of grapefruit, orange peel, pineapple, lemon, and melon. Sweet malt notes of caramel, biscuit, cracker, and yeast. A solid taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, oily, and drying on the finish.

Overall: A solid take on a Red IPA. Nice mix of earthy, floral, and fruity hop notes with a solid caramel malt background.

12 oz. bottle

Other than the outstanding appearance, this is a rather unexceptional but solid IPA.
Moderate bitterness.
