This incarnation is 6.9%, served in an imperial pint. Pours a clear reddish/orange, small white head forms, goes pretty quickly with minimal lacing. Smell is sweet, dates, floral, nicely malty and some alcohol is evident. Taste is sweet as well, with a strawberry/cherry fruitiness, some alcohol, floral and dates. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Not great but a servicable strong brown ale.

(Served in an American pint glass)
A-This beer pours a dark hazy brown body no visible carbonation and a thick creamy light tan head.
S- The soft smooth smell of brown malt and a faint caramel note at the beginning with a alcohol aroma at the finish.
T- The beer had a nice brown malt flavor with some hints of brown sugar and a slight cidery taste. The finish had a note or alcohol with a faint oxidation or oaky flavor.
M-This beer had a medium mouthfeel with a creamy texture.
D- This is a nice English Brown Ale that is missing a lot of the depth of malt. The alcohol was a bit strong for only a 6.5 abv.

Sampled on Cask at GI Clybourne
This beer is a full brown color, and it is topped by a frothy tan colored head. The aromas is lightly roasty with notes of coffee, caramel, and a hint of burnt fruit. The taste is sweet, with a malty fullness to it that is quite nice. I also get notes of brandy, cherries, alcohol, rum and caramel. This beer is so soft and creamy, with a low carbonation to it. This is definitely a great beer to have on cask, it seems to soften it and make it all that much more quaffable. This is tasty and I am quite enjoying the glass of beer that I was poured.

Pours a very dark brown with virtually no head and no lace. Almost looks like a liqid hershey bar. Aroma matches the hershey analogy. Taste is super sweet, almost like an alcoholic Coke. Brown sugar very dominant as well as milk chocolate. Very sweet aftertaste with virtually no bitterness. Beer is good but just too sweet to have more than one.

I tasted a five ounce sample of this dark brown seasonal ale which arrived with almost no head. The smell was sweet and caramely and the taste was even moreso. It was slightly medicinal and moderately carbonated. The overdone brown sugar sweetness covers up some of the other tastes, which is unfortunate. From what I can tell the taste is robust and round, with malts that are pleasingly roasted but not quite to the coffee zone. It's basically a good brown ale which could be much better if not for the huge payload of brown sugar.
