Another treat I gave myself at half-time @ the village pourhouse in the LES in NYC.
And this urban brew was an absolute flashback to my days in Paris because of striking similarities to a beer I used to love and indulge in at least once a week.
Poured on tap in an american pint glass. not entirely opaque, hueing somewhat through straw and orange maybe even a slight bit greenish but then I'm colorblind. not an inmense head and the small one it had wasn't particularly long-lasting.
Smell is discretely astringent, blending a lime feel with some dry wheat and just a tad of hops. although not too strong, it is enough to lay out what the beer is all about in itself.
Taste wise, I love this kind of borderline wits. it gives a main stage for a citrus sour feel of green half sweet lemons amid a rather dry, unsweetened wheat very grainy feel. It is very thin and fizzy, not trying to go overboard but be rather refreshing- in part why alcohol is hardly- if at all- perceivable and why hops are not the frontrunners here, but rather just discretely laying low behind, just adding a valid but small bit to the whole beer.
In all, in case one wonders- this Froegaarden-like deal is very spring/summery and a delight to session.
Serving type: on-tap
