Hazy golden straw color. Thick white foamy head with good retention and lacing. Lemony and orange aroma with a hint of white bread. Light, snappy citrusy taste - lemony with some sweeter citrus elements and a clean, dry finish. Refreshing and flavorful for a relatively light wheat ale.

Poured from a 16 oz can. Born on date of June 2015--so may be a little long in the tooth, but we will see.

Look--Pours like one would expect from the style--hazy, golden with ample head and decent lacing. The print on the label makes it clear this Goose Island offering intends to sell the "hazy" and "unfiltered" to a fault, and this wheat ale has a significant amount of sediment compared with other commercial offerings. The sediment particulates are prounounced, and visible throughout the drink--a swirl reveals more than just cloudiness--there are particles that are at least 1-2 mm floating in the beer! Maybe a little too heavy-handed on the "unfiltered" aspect here.

Smell--Rather unremarkable. Definite citrus aroma--trending more toward lemon as opposed to the omnipresent "ORANGE" that has taken hold in most of the commercial segment of this style. Pleasant additional herbal aromas, though the expected banana aroma normally featured in this style is muted if present at all. Not off-putting in that regard, just different.

Taste--Again--not offensive but not all that remarkable. Somewhat similar to a Hoegaarden, but with a bit more citrus, hoppiness, and bite.

Feel--At risk of sounding like a broken record--again nothing to write home about. Very smooth, light, and drinkable--but that is the bare minimum expected of the style. Good, but not attention grabbing.

Overall--A solid American commercial take on the style, but I would have been pleased if the creators had focused more on the flavor and less on trying to make something visually very different. I would drink again, and prefer it over other commercial offerings of the style like Blue Moon, but it isn't really a step up from that--it's just a more "lemony" and less "orange" version.

Pours a crisp gold with a thin white head that dissipates quickly.

Smell has a sweet fruity wheat aroma. Slightly rotting apples come through.

Taste is a slightly sweet overly ripe apple flavor with wheats undertones. Very sweet.

Feel has medium carbonation, smooth, drinkable.

Overall - maybe I had a bad bottle - but this is just a poor pale wheat ale.

A gift from a friend who visited Vegas. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a small white head. Aromas of yeast & wheat and faintly of apples & honey. Tastes of apples, honey, grains, bread & wheat. Aftertaste is a very mild wheat bitter finish.

I like this one because it doesn't have a very strong flavor, very light with a little bit lemony taste. The body is golden light and I think it goes well with any food.

Very good wheat beer. The beer has a lighter color with a strong wheaty taste. Overall, it is crisp and something that full flavored and will pair well with almost anything at any time of the day.

Really normal beer. Light wheat flavor with lemon aroma. It's a really good summer beer with fresh crispy texture and decent amount of bubbles. Really easy to drink.

Very surprising for someone who generally thinks of German or Belgian styles when it comes to wheat brews. 312 Urban presents with a light color not so hazy as the descriptions I've read. Some of the American wheat beers I've tried were a bit thin, or tart, or both. This is full flavored with body and richness more close to a Helles lager than the wheat beer I was expecting. Aroma doesn't give away much but ah, the flavor, rich is the word that comes to mind. Well balanced, not over hoppy, clean, crisp finish. A genuine pleasure to drink.

American pale wheat ales are my favorite style of beer for their great taste and inter-style diversity. That being said, this beer is a great example of a middle-ground in that pale wheat ale diversity. It's not as hoppy as some (see the Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Sumpin) and not as sweet as others (see the Bell's Oberon). Great size fizzy white head above a yellow and hazy body. It smells mostly of wheat. Like I said, neither too sweet or too hoppy. It has a crisp finish. Mostly sweet though, in comparison to other beer styles. Lemon notes in the palate are present. It is a light, watery feel with a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall, not a bad beer at all. Would recommend for people who want a middle of the road (between hops and sweetness) pale wheat ale.

Great wheat ale. This was my first wheat ale and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the beer. I had it on the tap and really enjoyed it. This beer could pair with almost any food and hold up. This is a great beer to start you craft beer journey with! !

Bottle from Bert's
Slightly hazy light golden color with a smallish off white head. Spicy earthy lemony with some bits of sweet bready and grainy malt. Not horrible, but not something I'd likely grab again .

Finger of white head. Gone in a minute. Beer is a pale gold, hazy, and has lively carbonation.

Has a moderate to mild aroma of spice and crackers. Slightly toasty, herbal, and vegetal. Little bit of corn. Small amount of citrus (lemon...?) from the hops (less pronounced than their spice and herbal quality), and a dull sweetness from the malt. Graininess- that umbrella wheat smell- is what comes to dominate.

Taste is bready, with very mild spice. That corny/broccoli taste is there, along with the overarching graininess. Bitterness is relatively sharp when combined with the sleepy wheat flavor, punches at the back of the mouth, and leaves a one-note aftertaste. The intensity of this beer's taste drops off fairly early with each sip. Crackery and vegetal remain in the background.

Feel is fine. Carbonation is there, and fairly zippy. Medium-light body. Moderate bitterness, dryness, and slight stickiness characterizes your mouth in-between sips. Nice, but not striking.

A perfectly fine beer to pound. Decent all around, but admittedly a bit lackluster when you're sipping it.

Goose Island Beer Co. "312 Urban Wheat Ale"
12 oz. brown glass bottle, "BOTTLED ON DATE: 29JAN2016"

The first time I saw 312 Wheat it was on tap at some place in Omaha, NE. It had a telephone as a tap handle, and it caught my eye. When I asked the bartender what it was he responded that it was "a local beer, a pale ale". Neither of his answers were correct, and perhaps the "pale ale" part is why Goose Island/Budweiser is discontinuing this beer now - he might have confused it with the 312 pale ale (although I think this was before that was even created).

It's not a bad beer though. It's got a pleasant, slightly sweet and yeasty nose to it. I get subtle clove, sugar, and chalk. The flavor is similar, but with more wheat in the malt, and more fruitiness (apple, banana, lemon rind). It's a little spicy with hops, and a touch grassy and herbal as well. It's moderately bitter, and very well balanced.

Murky. Dark yellow. No head to speak of. Light carbonation visible. This does not look like a wheat beer. First wheat beer I've poured that doesn't have a thick, soapy head.

Sweet malts. Bready.

Malt. A little citrus. Metallic aftertaste. Too sweet.

Thin to medium body. Saved a little by the carbonation up front but pretty watery after that.

This is a terrible beer. I understand an American Pale Wheat Beer is going to be a different style to a German Hefeweizen but I had no idea this would be so bland. Woeful. Maybe the 'urban' nature of this beer accounts for the appalling metallic aftertaste ...shudder... A wheat beer for people who don't like the taste of wheat beer.

This is my favorite beer to scoop up a 12 pack if I'm planning to have a good night. Great wheat beer with great flavors and hops. It's a great beer to keep downing for a party kind of night.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Hazy golden yellow with thick white head thadissipated to fine lacing quickly. Strong pleasant yeast notes. Clean citrus juicy flavor. I got strong citrus tart flavor but none of the bitterness that some other tasters noted.
I am a huge fan of wheat beers and this will be added to my list of go to beers!

Served in a nonic pint, it pours a transparent yet hazy yellow, with two fingers of frothy head that dissipates fast.
Smells of wheat maltiness. Flat, really.
Crisp and sweet from the malts. Wheat and caramely, a bit citric. Light body, very watery.
Refreshing, but nothing special.

Initial appearance brought to mind a hefeweizen, but without the body and traditional weizen notes. Comes off as dry and chalky, with some residual bitterness. Hazy golden in appearance, with short-lived, creamy head. Musty, earthy aroma of hay and wheat. Dryness takes away form its thirst quenching ability. Don’t consume with food....

Having this beer in a regular lager glass at a bar in New Mexico. Faint golden clear hue, not typical for wheat ale. Not much on the nose. Taste is slight lemon, slight wheat, not much hoppiness, too watery. However, I could see it being a quick drink thirst quencher when it's hot.
