12oz bottle - review from notes
Tastes like rusty old dry leaves. I don't know what causes this flavor in amber and red ales, but when it's present I cannot fully enjoy the beer. And this one is full of that flavor
Big bag of leaves

Bottled 7/21/15; drank 9/7/15 @ the Yarchives.
Poured from the bottle into a glass.
See-through ruby red appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; a curtain of frothy lace.
Caramel, pine & apple cider notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Mild apple cider & caramel flavors up front; a bitter, dry pine finish. Drinkable but not enjoyable; not much flavor & a harsh finish.

Goose does most things right, and at scale, including this autumn ale.
A)
Pours a deep amber body with a one finger dense foamy white head. Reasonable retention and lacing.
S) best part. The smell features a bright malt, fall feel (wet leaves, grass, decay, spice) and a lasting hop.
T) The taste follows smell and is balanced between sweet, yet clean malt core and a piney/ grassy hop finish.
F) mouthfeel is toward the chewy, fall, fatter spectrum.
Easy going, but one is enough because of the sweetness, and a tasty and an easy drinking ale.

Poured from the 12 oz bottle into a snifter.
Pours a medium amber with solid clarity and very minimal head.
Aromas are toffee and some lightly roasted malts.
Flavor is ok, pretty one note with toffee and mellow roasted sweetness.
Mouthfeel was ok, a touch sticky as expected,.
All in all, an ok beer.

Pours a dark golden color. Smells like malt and slight hops. Taste is very clean, and strong. This is a medium bodied ale with big flavor that is very satisfying to drink.

12 pack of bottles. This was a fun beer for the season, but had quite a rough after taste to it. Great tasting caramel flavors with way to many hops. I won't scoop this up again next fall. Way to many better seasonal beers.
