A- light pale orange color with a small white head that dissapates to a light film. faint lacing all down the glass.

S- bland smell, a little watery. some yeast and fruit hints but nothing really stands out.

T- similar to the smell there isnt a whole lot going on with the taste. very light and balanced. some very light fruit hints but overall the yeasty flavor is what stands out.

M- light body with low carbonation.

D- very easy to drink since the taste is so light.

overall- I was in chicago this past weekend and stopped in at the clybourn brewpub. The atmosphere was was very relaxed and clean. The Willow st. wheat was nothing special, but an overall nice beer. Its your typical american pale wheat, which is easy to drink but lacks in the flavor department. Here is the description of the beer from goose island,

"Our spring American wheat beer is brewed with similar malts to that of our Hefeweizen, but with a different yeast strain. Thus, it has the refreshing light, wheat character but without the spicy banana / clove flavors of the German-style weizen. Served in a pint glass."

A - Lighter orange color with a white head that left a bit of lacing.

S - Not a ton going on, some wheat, fruit, little citrus, kind of watery.

T - Taste is fairly bland, light a little bit of fruit and yeast, it's not offensive, but it's not particularly good.

M - Seems like a lot of GI beers on tap at Clyborn are a little flat and watery, this one is no exception.

O - Passable, and easy to drink, although if I were going to session something all day, I'd pick a different style.

The beer is unfiltered and when served in a standard pint is a hazy bronze with a tight head and good lacing.

The nose is of wheat, crackers and more than a bit of spicy hops.

The taste is refreshing, it is slightly acidic with a bit of bitterness. Some spice in the background. Tart with fruit notes.

Mouth is a solidly above average boosted by the tartness. Easy drinker here, but I’m not sure the crowd that inhales the 312 will be going for this one, as it is bolder and more complex.

In talking to the staff, they told me that this beer is basically their German Hefe recipe with Honkers yeast and more hops.
