Super-fresh bottle - woohoo! Best by dating without a decoder - woohoo!
Pours a very light amber with strong copper and gold tones though fairly hazy from the hops. Good head despite low carbonation with light lattice shaped stain on the glass.
Smells of light lemons with a soft herbal accent, opening to some weedy pine scents. Background is a slight combo of bare fruitiness and golden, toasty pale malt increasing in bready sweetness with exposure.
Taste is very lemony, slight grapefruit, with serious pine flavor generously poured over. Has a nice herbal tinge in the finish as this sixpack is so fresh the oil is still around to leave a film on the palate. Malt base is present though dry and slightly toasty. Leaves a thirst-inducing feeling of both juiciness and raw dryness. Mouthfeel is medium-low with a slightly round texture.
Very nice beer, great low price, and and an easy drinker. Definite session material as with almost all Goose Island beers.
