Yeasty aroma with a slight bubble gum scent.
A refined, smallish head develops when poured, with a soft, cream-colored look that slowly dissolves to a thin blanket of silky foam with spotted lacing. Good carbonation activity from the bottle conditioned brew as the bubbles streak up from the bottom to replenish the light blanket of foam. The golden amber liquid is quite clear for a bottle-fermented Belgian style, with only a bit of haze - enough so that you can see newsprint through it, but not well enough to read it.
Mellow, caramel accents to the malt, with just a little hop bitterness on the tongue and a little residual bread flavor. The light bottle conditioning adds enough carbonation for a creamy, effervescent feeling in the mouth.
Not as good as a topnotch Belgian, but works as an everyday choice for kicking back with some sports on the telly.
