Appearance: How is it that bartenders at a brewpub can't pour a beer? If the beer has no head, but you give it a little swirl and it comes back, then it's probably an improper pour. The beer was crystal clear, golden and looked good in the snifter.

Smell: Smell was citrusy, lemon, and a touch of hops and sweetness.

Taste: The taste was reminiscent of Delerium Tremens, hence the name? Lemon zest and hops match well with the malt which was only secondary to the esters, but played it's part, the finish was all zest and hops but not overpowering. Not particularly complex.

Mouthfeel: Good.

Drinkability: This one was very drinkable, but a little overpriced at 6 for a snifter.

Had on-tap at the Goose Island Clybourn brewpub. The beer is a cloudy, pale yellow with white head that lasted nicely.

There was a sharp, citrus nose to it.

It is light-medium bodied. The taste starts citrus and a little floral, the turns sweet then to bitter at the finish. It finishes hoppy and lingers a while in the mouth.

Overall I would say this beer has great depth.

Goose Island Wrigleyville just put this on-tap. Five bucks for a pint ($4 with a AHA discount).

Appearance: Straw colored with a hint of orange.
Solidly opaque. The head was there but snap crackle pop and it's gone.

Smell: Citrus and a slight funk. Water.

Taste: I think the taste really holds things up. It's light, fresh, slight citrus sweetness slight funkiness (matching aroma). Finishes dry.

Mouthfeel: effervescent and dry - seems like it's pretty highly carbonated.

Drinkability: I could throw these things down.

on tap into tulip at the Wrigleyville brewpub in Chicago. pours a golden honey color with one finger of tight white head. decent retention with moderate lacings. mildly hazy.

aroma is citrusy, with a base of pale malts and a subtle note of banana. delicate in profile with a refreshing quality.

taste is fruity, with a base of wheat malt and fruit notes of banana and citrus. finishes crisp with residual fruit. not as hoppy as the aroma would suggest, though a bit more delicate in profile.

mouthfeel is light bodied and mildly tart on the palate, with a slick mouthfeel after the fact and a refreshing character, though the fruit tends to overpower any chance of malt character.

drinkability is decent. this is a light and delicate brew with a refreshing quality, but it falls short of a great brew due to its overpowering fruit quality and a lack of malt character to balance the citrusy hops.

Tell the doctor I want to see him drink that shit first. Just because honey is added to my medicine doesn't mean papas satisfied. The bitter herbs make my face twitch. If the ale is pill sour to begin, dont add more cloves...it hurts rather than helps. And between the spice used to mask the Aspirin, with no smoke and mirrors to cover the flaw, I'm outta here. Finish it for me.

This is the brewery's gabf pale ale entry, this year made with citra. Don't expect any awards for this one!

A light copper with a tope head, head rises about two fingers and looks generic, like it was made for a commercial, weird bubble formation, I later assume this is due to it being cask conditioned which I didn't initially know...A light aroma that is distinctly citra hops but they are light and do not show as strongly as most citra beers do. Slightly disappointing...The taste is even more disappointing, an almost flavorless beer, can't believe this is cask, with only light pine and a very metallic finish.

This was a bar tender recommendation, but take mine and don't bother getting this.

Enjoyed at the Clybourn location.

A: thin head on a hazy bright golden body. Nice lacing.

S: Spearmint, grass, floral hops and some pineapple citrus.

T: grassy and pine. Corriander and other herbs. Light on the malts with nice Belgian yeast character.

M: light body and moderate to high carbonation.

Overall: nice Belgian characteristics here. The hops and minty notes make this refreshing and memorable.

Enjoyed on 09/12/10 on tap at Goose Island Clybourn.

Golden yellow leaning a bit towards the orange side of the spectrum. Two finger white head set atop when the pint reached the table. The retention was not spectacular but the lacing was fairly decent.

This may have been the best smelling beer I have ever taken a whiff of. The hop aroma was so intense, fruity and fresh. I honestly think my girlfriend was about to slap my if I mentioned how great this smell any more than I did. The fruitiness was total citrus, should be expected with the citra hops. The hop aroma was so pungent any secondary smells were buried. I would buy this beer for an air freshener it smells so good.

The flavor does not quite add up to the aroma, but that should not be taken as a negative statement. The bitterness is apparent but not abrasive. The hop flavor is full of fresh fruit, orange, mango, pineapple and grapefruit. The malt base is fairly light and straight forward.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. The texture is smooth and the finish is relatively dry.

Very good APA, honestly the best APA I have had in a while. The hop presence is a thing of beauty, very enjoyable without becoming abrasive. I would drink this often if it were a production beer.
