Enjoyed straight from the bottle.
Appearance: Bottle has a season-appropriate label. Typical Goose Island cap.
Smell: A rich smell. A hint of sweetness but a dominant toasty malt scent.
Taste: Carmel is very well present in the aftertaste. A nutty taste is picked up right off the bat. This beer gets the 'mild' title from the mild hops used. They create a very light, yet bitter malty taste.
Mouthfeel: Light on the carbonation, but it is present. Leaves a slight bitter-dry feeling in the mouth.
Overall this is a good holiday beer. Suitable in cold climates. This is not a beer that will satisfy a thirst. I could not imagine reaching for this on a hot day, which is clearly why it is seasonal. Fairly filing. A great contender to other winter season brews.
