On tap at Clybourn.
A-Very hazy, white filmy head. Burnt yellow color.
S-Clove, banana bread, malty.
T-Like most other hefes but with some alcohol bite. Also some phenols. Overall quality is grainy with nice notes of banana like esters and cloves.
M-Nice smooth body.
O-The alcohols take away from the drinkability of this hefe. A bit bitter in the finish for my taste.

On tap at Wrigleyville. This is an easy drinking. Orange and wheat aroma. Middling mouthfeel, which is a little light for this style. Carbonation is right there. Somewhat sweet, a tad of banana.A little yeasty. Altogether a summer beer. In a word, competent.

Served in a shaker pint glass at the Wrigleyville brewpub.
And here the 2011 Bachelor Party extravaganza beginneth! It pours a cloudy sunset amber topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises cracked wheat, clove, light banana peel, dry grass, and light orange rind. The taste picks things up significantly, with notes of mandarin orange, banana, clove, and light buttered biscuit. The body is a hefty light, with a very light moderate carbonation and a silky smooth feel. I have never had a hefe go down so smoothly. Overall, a very nice hefe, though the smell leaves something to be desired. I'd definitely rather see this stuff bottled over 312 and the like...

On tap at Goose Island Clybourn Chicago.
This is a typical hefeweizen. Pours pale yellow with zero head. Smells of cloves and banana.
Taste was good for a hefe, typical wheaty/yeasty with fruity undertones and banana. But it just didn't follow through as much as I would have liked it to.
Mouthfeel was light and smooth, easy to drink.
Overall a decent hefe, but not the best certainly. A good choice from my night at GI. My favorites are the Fleur and Hefe. Pass up the Summertime and Summer Spice, nothing much there.

on tap into a weizen glass at the Clybourn Brewpub in Chicago. pour sa yellowish amber color, with a decent haze and a minimal off white head.
aroma is of light citrus and a subtle spiced quality, along with a grainy base that seems to take over the profile in the nose. this is quite grainy for a hefe, without enough hops to balance it out.
taste is more of the same, with more of a grainy profile and a citrusy finish. banana and cloves are the predominant malt present, along with a bit of lingering citrus in the aftertaste, with the same grainy character from the front of the palate.
mouthfeel is light bodied, with a citrusy and light body, along with a lightly creamy finish of residual grain and banana.
drinkability is good. this is a bit grainy for a hefe, so it falls short of a great brew. could be a bit more complex in profile, as well as lighter in body for the flavors present. not the best from Goose Island.
