Pours a hazy pale yellow with a medium slowly dissipating white pillowy head with some light lacing. Aroma of spicy fruity esters, some citrus and banana notes, light yeast fill the senses. Taste is biscuit malt, yeast, citrus notes with some spicy fruity flavors and some nice tart bitterness. palate is a nicely balanced medium crisp body with lively mouth tingling carbonation. The finish is a sweet spicy tropical fruity flavorsome nice citrus notes, yeast ending with a lingering sweet tart bitterness with a bit of nutty flavor. Overall a very good, tasty and nicely balanced Saison. Nice.

Really enjoyed it. Great for small parties. The bottle itself is pretty elegant, and once you pour it in, it's great. High on citris flavors, but smooth going down. A great cloudy, yet crisp looking amber and goes down smooth. Perfect for a summer day. A bit on the expensive side, but if your looking to indulge, go for it.

1000th review. Only took 4.5 years. Many more to come to.

765 ml bottle was poured into a large tulip glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a crazy three finger head that finally reduced to a small puffy layer. It is a golden straw yellow with great clarity and vision of many bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Pretty funk, oak, chardonnay, vanilla, apple, pear, and a little orange.

Taste: Nice mellow funk, grape, apple, pear, vanilla, wheat, orange peel, oak, and a little bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied, a bit dry, medium to high carbonation, a little chewy, and a little funk.

Overall: Stellar beer enjoyed a lot over the years and many more times in the future.

This pored with a foamy bright white head that sat atop a clean brilliant yellow color.

The nose was tangy with white wine, vinegar, black pepper and a spicy touch.

The flavor had tones of white wine, malty vinegar, peppercorn, Apple cider, Apple cider vinegar and a yeasty funky finish.

The feel is tart but easy, light and clean.

This is quite enjoyable but the vinegar flavors are not well suited to my palate and make me score this lower.

2014 release - 750ml bottle split two ways
Notes from 06/22/2014

A: Golden straw blonde body with a hazy yellowish look to it. Effervescent with some thick creamy white suds forming on top. Good retention and a bit of sudsy stick left clinging to the glass.

S: Tart and lemony but not pungently so. Good amount of Brett there. Some soft graininess with dry grass is rounded out by a peppery spice and earthiness. Liking the nose a lot with the Brett nice and healthy.

T: There is really not much to the base of this beer and the Brett is not as vibrant in flavor. I do get some fresh grains, coriander, green pear, grass, white wine and tart lemon curds. Dry and peppery towards the finish with earthy minerals and some influencing Brett. Not a particular favorite of the style but tasty and very refreshing on a hot Summer’s day.

M: The body is super light and frothy at first with a light puckering dryness to it. Finishes a touch flat and watery but not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment.

D: Drinking fairly nice fresh but I am sure the Brett will get much better with some age. Probably not a favorite of the style but still nice and refreshing. Would definitely like to check out some Vintages one day.
