Side poured with standard vigor from a bottle into a tulip glass.
Appearance - A nice, cloudy golden color with a fluffy one and a half finger head. Decent lacing and head retention. I like the simplicity of the packaging.
Smell - Citrus peel, a very tart, refreshing nose. Some funky yeast, a little pepper and champagne.
Taste - The orange peel/citrus taste certainly hits you first, melding smoothly into the yeast and pepper, with the finish of champagne. It is a very unique take on the saison/farmhouse ale style, but very good!
Mouthfeel - To me, finishes almost like champagne. Well carbonated, a light to light medium body, a tart finish.
Overall - This is a good brew overall. I think I will stick with the more traditional saison/farmhouse styles, but this is a very unique taste out of the style. I would certainly recommend it, it is nice and light but still has a good flavor.
