From notes. Tasted on draft at Sheffield’s. The pour is oily black with no head. The nose is sweet with vanilla, cinnamon, oak, maple, bourbon, molasses, and milk chocolate. The flavors are bourbon and oak with quite a bit of sweetness up front, moving to charred bitterness and some coffee. The bitterness is not from the coffee flavor, but more from the addition of the cocoa nibs. The body is massive with very light carbonation and a super long and layered finish that starts with charred oak, moves to sweetness, and then bitterness.

On tap at Sheffields at the Goose Island event. Review from notes.

A - Black beer, fine bubble brown head. Very rich and velvety looking. Minor bubbles left on the sides.

S - Some vanilla, huge chocolate. Sometimes with raw cocoa nibs you get kind of a green/vegetable smell, but none of that here. Bourbon is a little more subdued than a lot of variants of BCS.

T - A lot different than other BCS in that the bourbon is much quieter and the chocolate is really just rich and chocolate. It's sweet, but can drink a decent mount of it without it becoming cloying. Liked the taste of this quite a bit and went back for multiple pours.

M - Lower carbonation, full bodied, smooth.

O - Liked this variation quite a bit, as it was a very different version of Bourbon County and still quite good. Had a few pours of it, went down pretty easy.
