Went to Clybourn before a Louis CK show with three friends. I always enjoy Goose Island beer. I knows at times some purists, at least that I know, seem to think GI can be a little ordinary, and not take too many chances. This probably is true, but what they brew is always of good quality. They take a style and the do it right. I have never really been disappointed with anything they have done. Never blown away either though.
We sat in a sunken dining room, it was very bright and I wasn't a big fan of the atmosphere. Service was good, especially considering we were pretty obnoxious by this point. She did a good job handling us and informing us on the beer. Her knowledge wasn't great but was able to gave us the basics.
The food was superb. My one buddy and I shared the charcuterie and I was still thinking about it for days afterward. Great head cheese and the pate was the sickest (in a very good way) that I have ever had. For my main course, I got a ground lamb burger, equally as impressive and delicious. I'd eat at this place even if they only served swill, but thankfully, they don't.
I recommend. And for your own good, by all means, get the charcuterie!
