Stopped in on a recent trip to Chicago on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00. I was worried about having a long wait since it was the weekend after Thanksgiving and everything in Chicago was packed but it wasn't really crowded at all.

There was a nice selection of draught and bottled GI beers from lighter refreshing stuff like 312 to Imperial Brown Goose and BCS. The heavy stuff didn't sound too good for lunch so I stuck with some of the easier drinking beers. I almost ordered a snifter of Imperial Brown Goose after our meal but decided against it as I still had a full day ahead of me. The cask-conditioned extra pale ale was especially interesting. The beer prices were pretty reasonable and the service was very friendly and helpful.

The food was a little hit or miss, and definitely pricey. $10 nachos came with nacho cheese sauce out of a dispenser. It kinda looked like something you would get at a ball park. The fish and chips were good, but nothing to write home about and my girlfriend didn't really like her chicken sandwich. Overall the food was pricey and underwhelming in my opinion, but it was just one lunch and maybe not indicative of the rest of their food.

Not a bad brewpub, a great space that looks brand new with quite a few taps. The brewery tour on the other hand is very underwhelming. Unless you have very little knowledge of beer skip the tour. It's comprised of standing around and listening to one of the (brewpub)brew masters explain the brewing process.

Highlights included being able to see a few casks aging in the brewing room, having a few samples after the tour and getting a pint glass included in the price of admission. For value this cannot be beat.

The brewpub offers a lot of beer that is created on-site and a new beer is available weekly. The swag selection is very good. Lots of t-shirts, glasses and even a Chicago/Goose Island flag.
