I went to Goose Island Clybourn this past Friday for lunch - certainly not my first time, but first time I'll review.
The atmosphere of this place is good. It's not as warm and eclectic as my favorite places and it's a bit Applebees-ish, but the bar area is pretty nice. They also have a backroom where they hold events - a nice touch.
The quality is great - fresh (or properly aged) beer, correct glassware, proper temperatures. I'm happy.
The service is quite good. Our server knew all of the beer selections (including guest beers) and was able to help in making selections. She could also talk beer with us.
The selection is decent. Overall, it's a good selection - Goose Island has a pretty good arsenal of beers. However, they had a few taps out (brewpub only beers), which upset me a bit. I wanted to try a couple new things, and was only able to try the Sai-Shan-Tea (as far as new Goose Island beers). It was quite good.
My burger was outstanding. Grass-fed with spinach, it was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had.
All in all, this is a good brewpub. I wish they had some more one-off beers (maybe it was an off day), but it is a great place for a meal and a couple beers. It's a bit pricy ($10 BCBS in snifter), but not too bad.
