This is kind of halfway there, for am ESB. There is a lot of malt on it that gives a woody and kind of tangy sweetness which doesn't quite fit for the style. This seems fairly pedestrian to me and not entirely "there." Though it does show a slight bit of potential. (mild hop spice and bite)

Poured cold into a tall beer glass, this offers a solid mahogony color with a goodly off-white head and great lacing. The aroma is pretty subtle malt wheat, kind of weak and non-descript. The taste brings a sweet earthy malt with crisp fruity hops. It's refreshing with a midland feel with lots of tiny carbonation livening things up. Bitterness is good. Pretty light bodied and drinkable. Not bad and better than average for a style that often seems to disappoint.

On tap-poured a nice dark golden brown with little carbonation with a tan head. I didn't pick up mch of a hop aroma. Taste light malt and light hops bitterness with a medium mouthfeel. Drinkability? This is a drinkable beer-a good summer session beer
