Took the family down into the city for a random fun night out.
Nice hip/trendy/artsy neighborhood. The parking, of course on the street is awful, just pay the $10 for the valet, it's worth it.
The atmosphere is very crowded, loud, bustling. They do not take reservations on a Friday night. We had to wait about 35-40 minutes for a table. Most of the crowd were 20-40 somethings, either big groups of friends or couples. We were one of the few families there.
Our waitress was fine, she had a good understanding of the food and beers.
The beer surprised me. They had at least 10 beers on tap. I tried the Imperial IPA "Wack Job" (DELICIOUS) and the American IPA "Dysfunctionale" (QUITE GOOD).
I picked this place because of Chicago Magazine rating this place as one of the Top 5 Best Pizzerias in Chicago! Considering Chicago is deep dish country, this is amazing NY style thin crust! Probably the best thin crust I have ever eaten.
YUMMY FOOD + WONDERFUL LOCAL BEER = GOOD TIMES!

Piece is a must visit for out of towners. Everyone has to get over the idea that all Chicagoans only eat is deep dish. While you won't find an extensive beer list here you will find a small, but great selection of Piece brews. They have their regulars / year rounds (4-6) with a small rotation of seasonals and limited releases (2-3 beers).
It's always busy, but if you go for an early or late dinner then getting a table shouldn't be a problem. Avoid this place 5pm-8pm or you can put your name in and walk around Wicker Park while you wait. There are plenty of bars to get a beer at while you wait an unreasonably long time.
The beers are above average with a few standing out against others. Most of the brews are of the Belgian style (not my cup of tea), but they do some great stouts and porters. My personal favorite, Flatiron is a solid oatmeal stout with some chocolate notes.
The pizza is what really sets this place apart. Do not order a pepperoni and cheese with red sauce. It's a great pizza, but you have so many other options here that you're doing yourself a disservice. We always order the white pizza with mashed potatoes and bacon. Delicious.
Piece is a great spot for game days and I'd suggest going early then bar hopping in Wicker Park or down Division (a few blocks south) for a great sampling of Chicago night life.
