There's not much I can say that hasn't been said already both others in this Piece review section, I can only reaffirm their praises and woes.

The atmosphere is very sports bar with a little brewpub thrown in, but only a little bit. Lots of big T.V.s and is always pretty crowded.

The service was kinda lax, but there were a helluva lot of people and even with adequate number of servers it still takes three times as long for them to walk from the kitchen to your table. Not an excuse, but definitely a factor. The bar is almost impossible to get to, though, and the table wait is pretty long if you're just showing up.

Their beer selection was pretty decent. Whatever you can say about this place the bottom line is that they have Orval for $6...nuff' said. Well, not exactly for their signature brews on tap lacked some luster. The first beer I had, the Worryin Ale, was smooth enough, but bland in the taste department. The Hefeweizen was pretty good, but for a place that brags about their Hefe it was just all right. Porter wasn't too bad, just a little thin. Still, Orval for 6 bones, WOOHOO!

Pizza is great. Granted if I'm going to take someone out for Chicago pizza we're going to Unos or Lou Malnatis, but for pizza at 1 in the morning it doesn't get better than this. Flat and crispy with a sweet dough and fresh tasting tomato sauce, a good snack after, before, or during beer...and their huge, even the small and medium ones.

Overall its not the best brewpub, but a much better bar than probably 85-90% of all the bars in Chicago for those of use who don't like to shuffle to repetitive techno music while swilling $7 bud lights. Thumbs up.

Review from notes - Visited on a Sunday that the Blackhawks were in the playoffs, so it was extremely hard to get a place at the bar to eat...may have taken 15-20 minutes. Not too bad. I had a beer in hand so all was good. Tried the Marketing Ploy, Victoria, and Golden Arm. All three were well done and served in proper glassware. The staff appeared to be well versed in the beers that they were pouring, but given the situation, they were less inclined to really talk about it. Also had a pizza and it was really good, if you like thin crust pizza. While it is "New Haven" style pizza, and the crust was what I expected, it lacked flavor in addition to the sauce, as compared to those pizzerias in New Haven. Don't get me wrong, the next time that I am in Chicago, I will be back. Good beer, good pizza and a good vibe...what more can you really ask for?

I was so excited to try the beer and pizza here. The place is very nice inside and had an awesome beer list. I order the flight of beer and most of their beers were delicious. My only issue with this place was I ordered a Hannsens Gueuze and they brought me a St. Louis without telling me they didn't have Hannsens anymore. This annoyed me a bit because my waitress told me "it's the same thing" which I couldn't disagree more with. The pizza was great and I would def come back here to eat and drink their beers on draft.
