Looking over the fact that they didn't have the proper glassware (beer snob alert), it poured to a minimal head which quickly dissipated to a crescent shaped white line on the glass. Slightly cloudy, pale copper in color. Having had this prior to filtering I definitely notice that the filter stripped a lot of the nice, chewy quality that it previously had. But it still has a hint of chewieness which is good.
The caramel taste from the Belgium candi sugar and the malty sweetness via for who hits the palete first. There is not even a hint of hops except for the very end/after taste and that is very subtle. Extremely drinkable!!!! I just may bring my goblet and see if they'll fill it next time I'm there.

Live Review. Picked up this growler from the Brewery 4 hours ago. Poured into a Brewery Ommegang goblet.
A Nice light brown head but slightly dissapointing that it disspates to a single ring around the top within about 2 minutes. Golden yellow brown, nearly caramel body which is translucent.
S A nice malty belgian yeast smell. Very inviting.
T Really great malty Belgian style dubbel (obviously right on for the style) with minimal hops bitterness (if any) and a nice grainy, yeasty taste.
M Moderate with sweet malt, high ABV but it is not overly thick. There is a great smoothness to this beer as well which is also very appropriate to the style.
D Very good due to the smoothness and the ABV is hidden very well I think thanks to the sweet malt.
Notes: One of my favorite, along with Belgian Fog, from Willoughby Brewing Company.
