This IPA had a hazy dark orange color and a nice thick white head. The smell was amazing. There was a delicious strong apricot aroma as well as some citrus. There is a fresh tasting earthy sweetness at first then a grapefruit bitterness with a bit of pine. A unique and enjoyable choice of hops makes this beer special. The mouthfeel is a bit thinner than I would prefer, but did not detract from the experience. Drinkability is very good. I hope they make this beer, and others like it often.

Over the top nugget smell and nice flowery taste.
Perfect yelloworange IPA color.
Hops to start, hops in the middle, and hops to finish.
Nice very thick head that gives you the perfect beer mustache.
Bring a designated driver and a growler because if your a fan of the IPA's this is a textbook example.

Review written from notes as I drnk this a week ago when my friend Jon and I paid a visit to the brewery. Served to me in a standard pint glass. This beer is an amber, light copper/orange color. Head was 1/4 inch when served and settles to a small white ring lining the inside of my glass. Decen lace. Has a very hoppy aroma and the taste is the same. Very bitter citrus hops. If you like bitter IPA's, not just hoppy but BITTER, then you should try this if you get the chance. The bitter hops hit my palate right away. Bitter, citrus hops dominate and not much else and the bitterness is very prevalent on the backend. Has a crisp, full bodied mouthfeel with moderate to heavy carbonation. The heavy bitterness makes this one a slow sipper. Not a session beer for me. One was quite good, but also quite enough. This might have been the most bitter IPA, and maybe even beer period, that I have ever had.

Sampled on tap at Willoughby Brewpub. Serving was in a pint glass.
The pint glass presented itself with a small off-white cap of foamy head, which was not long lived. Minimal sheeting/lacing on the side of the glass as the beer is quaffed. Beer is a copper color, and, as delivered to you by the bar maid, looks appealing.
Minimal hop nose, which was disappointing for an IPA. Really no more nose than there standard pale ale.
Taste is quite hoppy up front, with a caramel malt background which makes itself more known as the beer warms. The 7.2% ABV is detectable as well, as the beer warms. There are 4 hop varieties used in this, according to the barmaid, who brought me that information from one of their brewers. Simcoe, Chinnook, Centennial and Cascade are used in Daisy Cutter IPA. IBU level is said to be 75, and a good portion of that is from the Simcoe, if my tastebuds were working. After warming, and towards the end, you'll find this to be well balanced, and really not extreme, though you must be used to the Simcoe taste. My friend, who accompanied me on this tasting, had never had a Simcoe hopped brew, so the flavor seemed 'strange' to him. Mouthfeel is medium full, due to the large amount of malt needed to balance things out. The finish is lip-smacking dry.
This appears to be a seasonal, but if it's on tap when you go to the Willoughby Brewpub, it is worth trying, if you are a 'hophead'.

Had the Daisy Cutter IPA on-tap at The Oak Room in Athens, OH.
Appearance: gold-copper color with a half-inch head off the tap
Taste: hoppy with some unpleasant skunkiness; some mustiness; ive had better flavored ipa's (its one of my favorite styles)
Mouthfeel: medium bodied (it feels like a 6% beer)
Drinkability: decent, didn't really want another cause the taste wasnt that great

On draught at 69 Taps in Akron. The beer is hazy orange-amber in color with a medium white head that has fair retention. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma is piney hops with a little bit of malt and grapefruit. Medium-bodied with a good bitter quality. Resiny hops flavor coupled with fruity esters and more pine. Just a bit of malt here as well. The finish is tart and hoppy and lingers awhile. All in all there is not much to complain about here, this is a solid IPA all around.
