Pours a clean pale yellow color with a small white head. In the aroma, fresh blueberries all day. In the taste, fresh dry blueberries, almost like a blueberry muffin. A small bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a note of dry blueberry skin in the aftertaste. Fresh blueberries and not sugary at all. Quite nice.

A - Hazy yellow with a white one finger head that disappears as fast as it comes, no lacing at all.
S - Blueberries that have been soaking in water for a few hours, not saying the smell is bad its just not too good.
T - Really balanced sweet blueberries and a slight bitterness of hops. The blueberries are not real tasting at all, which really disappoints me it could be such a good beer.

Cuzco sent me two of these a while back... I drank one and couldn't bring myself to crack the other one... Here's why:
This looks and pours like a BMC adjunt lager. Clear gold and fizzy. There is a little yeast at the end that turns the glass slightly cloudy, but it is just barely so. Weak retention. No lacing.
Smells weak. Very bland. Some light notes of blueberries remind me of frozen blueberries. Just barely a hint of wheat...
Taste is extremely watery. The body is thin. Not really wheaty or blueberry, so it is a total failure in terms of living up to its name.
Overall, this is not much better than a BMC lager, and as a result, the only people I see being impressed by this are those people that are just crossing over to craft.

got this from a friend who brought a growler back from there brewery in ellicotville. poured into a pint glass. the color is maybe that of a macro, maybe a little bit cloudier. nice head though. somewhat creamy white head with some good retention and some decent lacing.
in the aroma ur hit with blueberrys and biscuity wheat. smells similar to a blueberry muffin. not much else goin on.
nice blueberry taste, not too little and not too much like most fruit beers seem to be. also a nice balance of wheat biscuity taste. finishs light and refreshing with a slight bitter, tart finish.
light body, similar to a macro, tingly carbonation. not much going on here.
definately a nice sessionable beer, really goes down easy. i like this beer on a hot summer day, it really goes down easy. also i seem too enjoy it and back it more just cause its a local place thats definately not this most popular.

Pours out nice. Nice lacing and color, aroma is pleasant. I personally think they overdid the blueberry thing tough. If blueberry was reduced about 50% this might actually be a good brew...instead it's one of those brews that taste ok...for one bottle. Half way through the second bottle your on overload of "that" flavor.
Probably a great choice if your gonna have just ONE. I lump this into my "novelty" beer class.

this was a free gift from a friend at my beer store, so what the hell.Pours out a hazy light straw color, no wheat beer sediments, very faint carbonation.
Smells like Eggo Blueberry Waffles..I kid you not, I love blueberry waffles but not sure if I want to drink one. Light biscuity undertone, blueberry overtones...blueberry waffles.
Taste is...blueberry waffles. Light breads again, lots of blueberries...blueberry waffles, or now that I think of it Boo Berry cereal, take what you will from that.
Mouthfeel is light, too fruity and kinda-not-so-good. I don't believe I will ever purchase this one or take free samples ever again. Leineinkugel's wheat tastes like Fruity Pebbles, this tastes like Eggo's,whats going on here? maybe someone will come out with a Cinnamon Toast Crunch brown Ale, or a Cocoa Pebble Milk stout, that could be good. As for now, Im not diggin' this theme.

Poored a golden amber much like the average macro's lager what little head there was dissipated to just a film on top no lacing... says its a blueberry wheat beer but under that says malt beverage brewed with blue berries... lacks the wheat beer cloudiness
Smelled overwhelmingly of blueberry not much else there
tastes like blueberries were steeped in ___ light ( your fav. macro)
not much going on in the mouth
drinks fairly easy due to the fruitiness and very commercial beer look

Served on tap at the Ellicotville Brewing Co.
Appearance: Very misty orange color...completely transparent. It has an almost non existant white head which leaves no lacing. There are even blueberries floating around in here.
Smell: Blueberries, grains, wheat.
Taste: Once again, blueberries but with an odd smoky character. There is some light bitterness in there too. Eventually the sweetness from the blueberries gets a little overpowering. Definitely too sweet for me.
Mouthfeel: Slightly watery, could use a little but more carbonation.
Drinkability: Due to the overwhelming sweetness of this, it is hard to stomach it all. Truth be told, it would probably would have done better with a meal to have gone with it. Its not the worst thats out there...but certainly not the best.

A - a nice golden straw color with ample bubbles rising to the surface adding to a nice white head.
S - berries are very much in the foreground in the aroma and not much else is discernible.
T- a nice surprise as the berries are there but the is much more evident including a nice malt backbone accompanied by some light hop traces.
M- very clean and carbonated; nice overall feel
D - on a hot summer day with an abundance of cold blueberry wheat; I could do some damage. every once in a while the berries seem to be a bit much but overall a very drinkable summer beer,

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It forms a thin white head that quickly fades leaving just a few small bubbles on top. The body has a light golden color with very good clarity. (Apparently this is a filtered wheat beer.)
Smell: The aroma has a big blueberry nose up front with mild leafy hops and then some light wheat notes in the background.
Taste/Mouth feel: The blueberry, which is up front in the aroma, is more mellow or complementary in the flavor. The sweet/tart blueberry flavor is balanced well with spicy, almost peppery hop flavor and some tangy wheat flavor notes as well. Its body has a very drinkable light to medium body with a nice active carbonation and a slow finishing tart to bitter fading aftertaste.
Notes: I really enjoyed balance on this beer. I loved that the blueberry that was big and bold in the aroma but didn't overpower the flavor of the beer or get lost altogether. Well done!!!

Initial appearance for this was a little dissapointing. Rapidly dissipating head and very clear which I dislike in a wheat beer.
Smell was nice I found the blueberry in the background rather than the forefront like in othe fruit beers. I have to say my smell was off due to being quite stuffed up at the time.
Taste was interesting. Instead of being punched in the face with a blue berry taste you were greeted with a crisp slightly smoky taste with some nice hoppiness to it. I was very suprised and pleased to be able to taste the hops.
Mouthfeel was somewhat average. Not too watery like a macro but definitaly not what you would expect from craft beer.
Drinkability was excellent. I could have several of these at a sitting without getting tired of it. Like I said the blueberry didn't seem over the top which can hinder a fruit beers drinkability.

Light-bodied with thin head-looks like a macro. Nothing to see here...
Smells has the thickness of an extract but it's a very nice dried blueberry scent. That's pretty much what gets picked up on the nose.
Nice sorta Pilsener feel but not too carbonated. Blueberry layer is pleasant and well-balanced.
Mouthfeel is adequate-a little hop character. No aftertaste.
Good summer effort-have had much worse in this category.

Pours a clear pale yellow with orange hues, and little to no head.
Smells like... Yeah, that's blueberry alright. Some underlying wheat and yeast as well.
Tastes like... Yeah, that's blueberry alright. Wheat and blueberry with a light hoppy finish.
Refreshing, a crips clean taste. Very satisfying to a thirst.
The blueberry would get tiresome after one or two, though; so I can't rate the drinkability very high.

On draught at Gallos Tap Room in Columbus. The beer is a clear bright yellow color with a thin white head that dissapears quickly. Spotty lacing. The aroma is wheat and blueberries. Light body with mild sweet blueberry, wheat and grain flavors. Flavor starts off alright but there is a definite off flavor of soap and metal here and there. The finish is sweet blueberry with a touch of hops. Slightly below average overall.

Minimally hazy maize with a sparkling appearance due to a generous amount of carbonation. The pearl colored cap is currently filling more than half the glass after what I thought was a controlled pour. It's on the poofy, airy side, but still manages to leave a few clumps of suds behind.
The nose is classic for the 'blueberry wheat' style. I smelled lots of fresh berries on crown cracking and have been enjoying the aroma over the past several minutes, even though the glass is more than a foot away. Any blueberry beer that smells this much like bursting berries is okay by me.
I'm not so thrilled with the flavor. My first impression is that Blue Berry Wheat tastes like a fruit beer than was cut with tonic water and a dash of bitters. I like beer of this style to have a little sweetness to go along with the fruit. Absent that, it shouldn't be as bitter as your average 80 IBU IPA (without the hop flavor that makes the bitterness worthwhile).
The unfortunate thing is that there's a decent amount of good blueberry flavor trying to fight through the less than pleasant characteristics. I can't think of anything (other than hops) that would impart such a quinine-like bitterness, but something major needs to be changed before BBW can be considered average. Since Southern Tier is the contract brewer, I'd suggest having their guys tweak the recipe.
The mouthfeel is light (perhaps too much so) and is too bubbled. Maybe this was a bad batch, who knows? Things are settling down somewhat as I enter the bottom of the bottle, but the word 'fizzy' still applies.
Ellicottville Brewing Company Blue Berry Wheat falls well short of most similar offerings that I've had in the past. I would have thought that Southern Tier could work their usual magic, but there's nothing the least bit magical to be found in this bottle. I'd suggest passing this one by.
