Presentation: It was poured into a tall Pilsner style glass from the tap at the Ellicottville Brew Pub's Fredonia Location.
Appearance: The body was a nice golden color with light reddish hue. It was also full of lively visible carbonation that raced up to a thin white head. This head is loosely packed and quickly settles down to just a ring of lacy foam. Lacing on the glass was spotty and slick.
Smell: I got a nice mix of light malty grain, freshly picked raspberries and raspberry candy.
Taste/Palate: It has a good medium body and lightly sweet malt with just the right amount of mellow fresh raspberry flavor. The raspberry flavor is real and fresh with just a hint of tartness. This raspberry tartness plays well of the mellow hop bitterness and light leafy/spicy notes in the finish.
Notes: There is nothing over powering here. Everything is well balanced for an "Imperial". Even the 7% abv is very well hidden. I also loved the real raspberry flavor here. There is nothing syrupy or cloying about it.
Serving type: on-tap
