A light amber color, slight lacing, good carbonation.

S - Not much there. maybe some malt and slight citrus

T - Good hop bite on the tongue then swiftly moves to more of a subtle earthy hop finish

M - medium bodied, good carbonation, smooth and lite

O - An average pale ale. Not as malty or hoppy as I like but a good beer to toss back watching Sportscenter or whatever...

On tap at the tasting room.

A - hazy orange with a thin, white head that has good retention.

S - faint bread, grapefruit, pineapple

T - faint bread, faint citrus, very subdued flavors, mildly bitter finish

M - medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated

This is a decent, refreshing beer. The flavors are mild, but overall it's enjoyable.

22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Pours a slightly hazy dark orange with a white one finger head. Pretty good head retention and lacing.

Smells is quite citrusy from hops along with a llittle nuttyness and caramel.

Flavor is full of hops up front with citrus reminding me of apricot. There is a floral note as well along with some light nut and caramel. Mouthfeel is medium and pretty appropriate for this beer.

Overall, this beer is pretty tasty but it just comes up a bit short. I feel like both the hop and malt flavors are muted and could stand to be much bolder.

From my notes.

Shared this 22 oz bottle with my brother-in-law during the holidays. Poured into a pint glass, this is a hazy yellow/amber color with minimal head, and mild retention as the beer is swirled in the glass.

Minimal smell, with undertones of malt and grassy hops. Overall, however, there isn't much there.

Mildly bitter taste, with hints of peppery spice and grass. Some hop bitterness to finish.

Light to medium bodied, easy drinking, with a session-style to it.

Very drinkable, good for a hot summer day.

pale yellow with no head at all. Some small lace, but nothing noteworthy. Smell is slightly hopped with a malt hint in there, matybe even some caramel. Taste is big malt up front with a dry hopped back. Not bad at al lfor a pale ale and a little suprising based on initial presentation. Goes down very smoothly and really has a good aftertaste, would definatly drink this again.

22 oz bottle split and poured into a Central Waters tulip.
No date or info available.

Thanks to Beerwolf77 for sharing this bomber with me! They can't always be sour...

A - Lightly hazy pale golden yellow in color topped by an unrelenting, tree-finger off-white head. Thick and well-retained, the foam leaves sheet after sheet of lace on the glass.

S - Biscuity pale malt has a nice bready nose with undertones of mild hops. Oily and resin-laden with pine needle poking out.

T - Bigger in malt profile, this pale ale is honey-draped biscuit-like sweet with a tiny hop kick to the back end. Resiny and floral with notes of cut grass and wood chip.

M - Medium-bodied and malty with a light dry hop bitterness to the finish, Escape Artist is smooth and round in feel.

O - If you bill this one as an American Pale Ale (which, of course, it is) it's not all that good. But, if it's really an ESB (the American hops would be wrong), like it says on Untappd, this brew becomes much better. Either way, it's malt-driven; not anywhere near as hoppy as an American Pale should be. Then again, there's no date on it, so it could be old.

Received this one as an extra.

A: Looks good for a pale, but holy hell is this thing carbonated. I haven't seen carbonation this strong in anything but sours or Jolly Pumpkin brews,

S: Smells really yeasty. Unbelievably so. Is this really a pale ale? Did I wait too long to drink this one?

T: Um. This isn't a pure pale ale. This has to be some kind of Belgian pale ale. This thing tastes like yeast. I should note I'm not a huge fan of sours/Belgian beers...so...

M: Already kind of stated my thoughts here...

O: Probably not going to finish this one. At least it was an extra.

Appearance: Lightly hazed, medium copper-hued (honey-colored for TheLibrarianGirl) body with a thin, white head.

Smell: Honey aroma overlaying notes of pale, toasty malts with small bits of spice and dried citrus.

Taste: Mild-mannered pale malts, lightly toasty grains with a thin brushing of wildflower honey for a bit of imparted sweetness. Lightly spicy, lightly citrusy hops with a minor amount of bitterness present. As it warms, the citrus emerges to give a bit more lemon flavor. Dry, lightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel.

Overall: It's light but food-friendly and pleasant enough for a round or two.

Bottle received in a trade with gehenherzog. Thanks David. Reviewed from old notes. Split into tulips.

A: Cloudy golden orange hue. Solid two fingers of cream colored head. Thick lace rings remain.

S: Mild hop profile blends with a sweet malt bill. There's a strange funk that I simply can't put my finger on. It's throwing me off.

T: Very biscuity flavor profile. Some mild hops in the finish but this seems way too malty for pale ale.

M: Medium body with mild carbonation.

O: Meh all the way.

ESB: not PA. Served on tap at brewery.

Hazy amber with minimal but lasting white head; lots of lacing.

S: rather subtle and earthy. More aroma from the hops than from malts.

T: Far better than the nose indicates. Hops are less dominant than in the nose. Flavor is more earthy than fruity. Has an excellent finish with both hops and malts clearly present.

M: Light-medium body. Perfect (medium) carbonation that lends some crispness.

O - ESB is a style I don't care for much. This one is maltier than most and, partly for this reason, is as good or better than any ESB I've had. I really enjoyed it.
