Pours a deep dark chcolate brown with a thinner but lacey beige colored head atop.Aromas of dark fruit and vanilla stand out with a big shot of boubon booze, faint chocolate is detected as well.Alot going on the palate, toasty with vanilla notes mixed with brown sugar and dark fruit, not alot of chocolate or roast although the former is there.A sipper,it seems even bigger than what it is,a big price tage but a nice find.

poured from 750 ml bottle into a central waters snifter. thanks again drinkdrankpunk for a great trade including this one.
a- aggressive pour produced an inch or so of khaki head with some good retention. jet black in color. looks spot on for the style
s- smell sharp bourbon and oak. some coffee, chocolate and hops. not quite as strong as i was hoping for, but still a nice nose.
t- similar to the nose. lots of bourbon and oak. chocolate and coffee underneath that. a little hop presence and more bourbon sweetness on the finish. as it warms, a little more of the bourbon notes show themselves, not nearly as in your face as a lot of other BA stouts, but very smooth. 10% abv is no where to be found
m- very little carbonation, which i expect for the style. a bit thin for my tastes, as I like my big stouts a bit more chewy. almost an oily consistency which lends to it feeling very coating with a nice lasting finish.
overally, not a bad beer but doesnt quite reach the level that some of the bad boys of BA stouts get. happy to have tried it, but wouldnt seek it out in a trade again.
