A: Hazy, amber colored beer with a moderate off-white head. Very good lacing and a fair amount of retention.

S: Aromas are of caramel malts and floral hops.

T/M: Very enjoyable balance of malts and hops; the bitterness is strong but you still get a fair amount of sweetness from the malts. I also get some citrus flavors. Medium to thick in body, with a high carbonation level. The finish is dry and hoppy.

O: Overall a very good English-style IPA.

Thanks to Kegatron for gifting me with a 12oz bottle of this. Poured into a snifter, the brew appears amber in color with a frothy off-white cap that leaves patchy lacing on thr glass.

The aroma is straight hops smelling primarily of pine, herbs, catty and dank. It is mildly fruity and floral as well as it opens up.

The taste is bitter and herby like grass and a bit of pine and dank aspects before getting rindy and zesty. A soft backing of caramel-like grain is present without offering much sweetness. Some alcohol is also evident as it warms up.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is an interesting and enjoyable ipa that is for the most part middle of the road, but without fault as well.

Nothing special here, but a decent choice if you're a hophead. A nicely done, well balance IPA. It isn't a standout knock em out of the park brew, but for sitting around shooting the breeze and craving some hops, it gets the job done. Worth a try if you see it on tap somewhere.

Appearance: Looks more like an English Pale Ale. Amber-brown color with quickly diminishing 1 finger head.

Smell: Smells more like an English Pale Ale. Malt, caramel, toffee, super-slight booze, piney background.

Taste: Unexpected... The taste is the smell in reverse. Hop bitterness, pine, a touch of citrus, followed by a slight wash of sweet malt and booze before the bitterness begins to linger - more like a piney hopped American IPA.

Mouthfeel: Medium, but more thick than thin. Oily and sticky.

Overall: I really enjoyed this beer. I'm pretty sure it was my first English IPA. If blindfolded, I would've been convinced it was an English Pale Ale by smell and just as equally convinced it was a piney American IPA by taste. I would definitely have this again.

Pours deep amber in color with a slight haze and a good one and a half finger off white head that has good retention.

Smell has a some good hop aromas forward with mainly floral and herbal notes. Smells nicely balanced with a good amount of rich caramel and bready malt.

Taste is good. There is a nice light herbal hoppy note forward over a rich bready malty body. Nicely balanced and no individule ingredient is overdone.

Mouthfeel is good medium body and small bubble carbonation give this a medium feel. Lots of hoppy resin and oil leave this slightly sticky.

Pours a deep amber color with a good sized two finger khaki head that leaves some pretty good sheet lace behind.

Aroma is a citrus/grassy/herbal mixture on a lightly sweet caramel base. Would say its light side but it is an English version of the style so pretty normal.

Taste is good dose of sweet caramel malts hints of toffee. Hops are herbal/earthy in nature with some earthy, tobacco and minty like bitterness in the finish. Petty true to style descent malt base.

Mouthfeel is solid medium average level of CO2.

Overall not a bad try on the style not big fan of the English IPA's but this one is pretty well done.
