Appearance: Looks more like an English Pale Ale. Amber-brown color with quickly diminishing 1 finger head.

Smell: Smells more like an English Pale Ale. Malt, caramel, toffee, super-slight booze, piney background.

Taste: Unexpected... The taste is the smell in reverse. Hop bitterness, pine, a touch of citrus, followed by a slight wash of sweet malt and booze before the bitterness begins to linger - more like a piney hopped American IPA.

Mouthfeel: Medium, but more thick than thin. Oily and sticky.

Overall: I really enjoyed this beer. I'm pretty sure it was my first English IPA. If blindfolded, I would've been convinced it was an English Pale Ale by smell and just as equally convinced it was a piney American IPA by taste. I would definitely have this again.

Pours deep amber in color with a slight haze and a good one and a half finger off white head that has good retention.

Smell has a some good hop aromas forward with mainly floral and herbal notes. Smells nicely balanced with a good amount of rich caramel and bready malt.

Taste is good. There is a nice light herbal hoppy note forward over a rich bready malty body. Nicely balanced and no individule ingredient is overdone.

Mouthfeel is good medium body and small bubble carbonation give this a medium feel. Lots of hoppy resin and oil leave this slightly sticky.

Pours a deep amber color with a good sized two finger khaki head that leaves some pretty good sheet lace behind.

Aroma is a citrus/grassy/herbal mixture on a lightly sweet caramel base. Would say its light side but it is an English version of the style so pretty normal.

Taste is good dose of sweet caramel malts hints of toffee. Hops are herbal/earthy in nature with some earthy, tobacco and minty like bitterness in the finish. Petty true to style descent malt base.

Mouthfeel is solid medium average level of CO2.

Overall not a bad try on the style not big fan of the English IPA's but this one is pretty well done.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a slightly hazed, auburn-copper coloring with a thin, filmy, bright white head that starts around a half an inch and settles quickly into a surface coat. Nose of biscuit and toffee in the backbone, with a sharp, tart, grapefruit character and some floral highlights. Smells bright and light. Flavors are bitter and tart forward, with grapefruit notes abound. Solid roasted toffee backbone, with a rich sweetness. Very well balanced, and some peppery notes at the end of the palate. Spiced and resiny bitter aftertaste on a light, smooth body. The beer has a crisp, drying finish. Very balanced and very solid. Good beer.

Great IPA from Green Man. I really am having trouble giving this a fair review but, I will try. I always get this when I go to my favorite restaurant in Knoxville at the moment... Tupelo Honey in Market Square Knoxville. So with this world-class food they have Green Man beer.

I love this easy drinking IPA. Not too hoppy and smarty. Never see the head but the color is warm and dark. Nice mouth feel with lots of bubble and pop.

Flavor is great and I keep coming back to it. Give it a try with the green at Tupelo Honey!
