Dark, full-bodied, and rich in flavor, Green Man Porter is wonderfully easy to drink. It offers a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and finishes with distinctive chocolate notes. This traditionally crafted, award-winning British-style Porter, like a true rock star, enjoys a legendary following.

Dark brown body, large tan head, good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts complemented by caramel, toffee and dark fruit. Taste starts sweet and lingers a bit while dark bread, caramel and walnuts round things out on the back of the palate. Medium-to-full bodied, softly carbonated, malt focused mouthfeel. Overall, a fine beer to relax with.

Solid porter, with full body and rich mixture of flavors. Representative of the mid genre. Excellent value for the price.

12oz can served in a tulip. Can is dated illegibly. My brother sent it to me from South Carolina.
Pours black with a big, short-lived head, that leaves a thin cap with a thicker ring behind. Smell is roast coffee and toasted nuts, slight breadiness.
Taste is moderately sweet with a slight molasses and black licorice tone, roastiness comes across clearly but doesn't seem bitter, breadiness is contributing to the sweetness. Bitter roast flavors do seem to build up over time.
Mouthfeel is light, effervescent, dry. Overall, nice porter.

Had a 24 oz draft pour at Papas and Beer near the Asheville Outlet mall while having lunch with Da Boss on 9-7-23 for $8.00.
Beer was served dark brown with a nice tan head.
Nose was very nice with notes of chocolate and coffee front and center.
Taste was very nice as well as the lighter malt base emitted a chocolate forward flavor with a touch of coffee. Finished nicely hopped and came off very balanced with no hints of astringency.
Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and very smooth.
Overall one of the better porters i have had in recent years. Will need to pick up a sixer at some point!

Tasted on tap at Doherty's Irish Pub in Apex, NC.
L - Super dark brown to black color, and opaque. Moderately thick, creamy tan head that lasts a good while.
S - Muted aromas. Low roasted malt and lower chocolate notes in the nose. Some smoke.
T - Mildly burnt grain is the primary flavor. Some low chocolate. Very light herbal hops flavors.
F - Light body is appropriate for the English Porter style, as is the low, slightly creamy carbonation. Low to medium hops bitterness is a bit high for that style. Alcohol is there, but does not intrude.
O - This is an enjoyable English Porter, but I find the hops bitterness and roasted grains a bit more assertive than the typical imported examples. This beer seems more fitting for American palates, with assertive flavors. Who could blame the brewer for that? It is still a very nice beer.

Poured into my traditional Porter/Stout Glass
Nose: Wonderful aroma of fresh roasted coffee
Taste: I`m getting coffee and some chocolate notes as expected from a porter/stout. However, I`m also getting dark fruit notes as well, which I normally don`t notice in a beer of this style.
Feel: Medium to light mouth feel. Decently carbonated, not overly so. Bitterness from the hops in the finish.
Overall: It`s a good solid porter, easy to drink, with different flavors dancing all over your taste buds. Cheers!!

"Best before May 2023"; drank 12/31/22 @ the Yarchives.
Brown/black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice tan head; frothy tree-rung lace.
Medium roast coffee bean, vanilla & faint booze heat notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Medium roast coffee bean, mild vanilla & faint hop dryness on the finish.
Balanced & quite solid. I'd have another!

I have drank this beer many, many times how am I just reviewing this now? I don't know but here we go.
I'm drinking this at The Mason Bar in beautiful downtown Murphy NC in Western NC on open mike night.
Looks dark brown almost black with a tannish foamy head that dropped to a nice cap.
Smells malty, vanilla, chocolate.
Taste follows the nose nicely.
Mouth feel is medium plus for the style, almost Stoutish with a nice soft finish.
Overall a very nice example of a Porter that I will definitely order again.
Cheers!

Tough to find brown porters these days. Much prefer this style to robust porters. This is a good one with aq bit of cocoa on the aroma and a roasty, chocolate flavor. Medium bodied. Slightly nutty....Enjoyable workman like brown porter.

12oz can with a best by date of 10/30/22.
1 finger beige head with good retention. Dark body with brown highlighs at the bottom edge. Wispy lacing. Cocoa, mild coffee, dark fruit / yeast in the nose. Roasted malt, light coffee char and a hint of the fruity yeast that;s also apparent in the aroma. Medium plus body with low plus carbonation. Medium length roasty finish with a touch of sweetness - very tasty. Very Good.
