hazelnut brown. Lots of carbonation visible throughout the glass. A nice three finger high head of tan colored lace rose up above it
The aroma was rich and sweet. Lots of great earthy and grainy notes mixing in well with a good amount of caramel sugar. The flavor followed suit nicely, with the dominant flavor of caramel really taking hold. Some nice bready malts being located under that as well. The alcohol was very well hidden, and not a factor at all. Nice smooth finish

The beer arrived on the bar crystal clear deep amber brown with a low off-white to tan head which fell quickly but worked at trying to lace the glass.
The aroma was malty with a dark caramel and deep dark fruit, namely raisins and prunes.
The flavor was malty with a bit of chocolate and a strong candy presence. The fruity character was dark fruits, raisins and prunes, both present at a moderate level.
The finish was malty with a strong lasting caramel and fruit flavor into the aftertaste. The body was medium full and almost a bit chewy. Very nicely done!
Draft at Dirty Jacks (listed as 8.0% ABV).

Poured into a 12oz glass at Jack of the Wood, poured a deep ruby color with a tannish colored head that didnt stick around for long.Aromas of molasses and brown suar dominated a touch of bitter chocolate also thrown in even a hint of alcohol but its well hidden.Nice style qualities malt driven and hearty of course big molasses flavors a touch of raisin with a real noticable alcohol burn in the finish and lingers well.A good doppelbock can be hard to find this one fits the bill and more,I really enjoyed this offering.
