Pours a murky, brass yellow hue with decently thick foam that is slow to settle. Aroma is earthy, lots and lots of hops pretty much overpower anything else. On the tongue, it's obvious why. This is about as close to chewing on a hop cone as I can recall. Hoppiness is earthy, piney, even vegetal via its saturation. It feels resiny and gritty on the tongue, hop bitterness is borderline overwhelming. Just a touch of booze lingers on the back of the tongue. It doesn't taste artificial, as in the use of extract oils, which is good I guess, but it's like they wet hopped it to death and then when they couldn't cram any more hops in, they added more. It's still a decent beer, but it could have benefited from just a touch more balance.
