Cloudy orange hue with a decent head woth reasonable retention. Big pungent grapefruity hops aromas, with an accompanying very bitter taste. Quite a bit of caramel-like maltiness, but it does not seem to integrate with the hops, as if there is a separate layer of malt sweetness trying to make up for the bitterness, rather than the flavours coming together. The bitterness gives a good lingering finish. The mouthfeel is good with a just enough carbonation (for my taste anyway). Overall, a bruiser of a beer with lots of hops, but a bit of a simpleton. Not one I'll come back to I'm afraid.

Drank from a bottle that is about three weeks old from the bottled date, a good fresh example.

A - Poured into an American style pint glass, nice, foamy two finger head. Golden in colour, slightly cloudy appearance (wheat malt in the grain bill?). Looks pretty good.

S - Aroma is reasonably subdued, I get a bready malt note, with a yeasty overtone. Hops wise I get grapefruit (Galaxy?), lemon zest, citrus.

T - Immediate flavours are hop driven, spice, peppery notes, grapefruit, citrus. The malts come through with a bready, slightly sweet touch, supports the hop profile very well. Finishes nice and dry with a lingering citrus taste, leaves me wanting to drink more of this beer.

M - A nice burst of hop bitterness followed by a creaminess which then dry's out, carbonation is relatively high, a nice soft mouthfeel overall, great water profile.

O - I've enjoyed this beer regularly on tap and from bottle, I think it's a well brewed pale ale that is refreshing and highly drinkable, definitely a good session beer!

A - Poured a cloudy almost dirty pale honey colour with a one fingered head that retains well

S - Pretty impressive on the nose with loads of Grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, orange and a sweet candy or toffee apple

T - A little disappointing with the taste. One of those beers that has great aromas and promises so much but falls a little flat on the taste side of things. Still get some grapefruit and some bitter lemon, a little grassy that tapers off to a dry bitter finish.

M - Light bodied but a little over carbonated

O - Disappointed with the end result. Lacks that real depth in flavours and there is definitely better pale ales out there.

A: Pours cloudy with a nice dense cream head. Bottle conditioned.
S: Tons of lemon and some grapefruit. Bit of hay.
T: Lemon and grapefruit. Firm bitterness.
M: Nice mouth feel. Crisp finish.
O: Decent beer. I personally prefer more hop flavour in a pale ale.

On tap at the brewery.

A: Served a copper color with a tight creamy head that fades to some lacing.

S: Aroma of citrus, bit of fruit sweetness and some caramel.

T: Taste of citrus, caramel sweetness and a trace of fruity sweetness in the background. Nice bitterness and a dry finish.

F: Medium body, nice crispness and quite smooth. Nice balance.

O: Enjoyable beer that goes down easy. Good for a few.

Tried this in-tap at the brewery!

A: A bit of cloudiness for a pose ale, but overall a nice appearance, light golden color.
S: Faint hippy smell- light citrusy notes, but not very strong.
T: Nice immediate hoppiness, floral and citrus notes that follow with a clean finish.
M: Good carbonated mouthfeel. What you would expect from a Pale Sale- no surprises.
O: Nice pale ale, nothing unique, but enjoyable and well done.

Pours a one finger gold - slightly hazy. Head fades. Good lace.

Moderate but complex aromas. Hops up-front, some lemons/grapefruit, but overall sweet.

Taste is same, moderate hop bitterness only. Malt is there but not in the way. Actually gets better as it warms, malt profile comes thru.

Mouthfeel crisp and moderate carbonation.

First word that comes to mind is 'solid'. Could go a few, but would you? A sort of a cross between say a Fat Yak and a more floral out-there APA. Can only assume marketed as a 'base' APA in the range.

Looks like its been rebadged Beechworth pale ale. Same 4.8%.

Hazy golden color. Good clarity for a bottle conditioned beer. Head forms frothy and white and has good enough stability and lacing.

Well presented hop aroma. Nice citrus and floral with a bit of sweeter malt.

Taste also has that pleasant slightly sweet biscuit malt and with a good dose of hops. Bitterness is clean with the whole flavor well balanced and refreshing.

A very well made and drinkable beer. Could easily have a few of these and not mind one bit.

Very attractive looking beer - big powdery head upon pouring and excellent thick lacing. Big nose, good lift of tropical fruits and floral / herbal notes. Palate is more subdued; sweet malt hints early before firming up in the back palate with herbal hops and a good lick of bitterness. Very good effort from a local bloke.

Pours a moderate gold amber colour, clear with modest white head. Bubbles sink to a thinnish film with decent lace that is not very sticky. Steady carbonation; not bad.

Smells pretty beautiful - passionfruit with pineapple and citrus. Lots of NZ hop notes, quite bitter as well with some lemon rind character on there. Yeah, I heartily approve of the hop level and the nose in general.

Taste is fruity; lots of citrus through palate with a tang on the front, blends well with slight buttery malt. Gets slightly bitter with rindy notes on the mid. All pretty fruity and citric throughout the palate. Nice soft hoppy finish, well blended. Not seamless, though, with a hint of harsh bitterness emerging right at the end. Great palate though, very decent drinking.

Foamy texture, good and full body. A little bit of a sizzle as well, pretty good pale ale texture.

A good after work beer, a nice clean ale with nice flavours.

This pours a murky dark orange colour with 2 centimetres of dense white head.

I get some really strong sharp citrus aromas from this with some spiciness in the background. Not a lot of malt.

Strong grape flavours on the palate and some very nice bitterness. Malt comes through a lot better.

Although the above really doesn't sell this beer well I think it is amongst the best being brewed in Victoria and is eminently drinkable.

330 ML bottle poured into a Great Divide Globe

A-- Poured a clear dark gold color with a fluffy white one finger head that took its time in dropping to film. Decent head retention. No bubbles on the sides of the glass and just a bit of lacing.

S-- Grapefruit and lemon hop smell with just a small amount of a biscuit background. Crisp and fresh smell.

T-- Lemon citrus followed by grapefruit. Malt is a hearty biscuit like taste.

M-- Not a lot of bite to this, more aromatic and kind of floral perfume like finish. Not a big hop driven finish and flavor dies off pretty quickly.

D-- Low ABV at 4.8% so quite drinkable and refreshing, just not enough of a WOW factor to keep a Pale Ale fan interested. Good stepping stone from lagers to Pale Ales. After a while would want something bigger and bolder in the Pale Ale department.

The first hit is of hops with moderately strong passionfruit and mango tropical notes coming through. The malt is laid back as it should be.

It is moderately hazy gold with a small white head.

Hmmm, I get plenty of good hop flavour as in the aroma. The malt profile is again subdued helping to support the hops with just a tinge of caramel flavour. Unfortunately, there appears to be a woody, dirty note in the background, almost like coffee. It may be a light infection but it detracts a little bit from an otherwise stellar beer.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Just right to help the flavours work.

An eminently drinkable beer from this top notch Aussie micro. It's a pity that there appears to be a small flaw here but otherwise it is good.

Hazy gold pour with a long-lasting head.
Aroma is very malty with toffee, honey and resinous and peachy hops. Very appetising!
The flavours are less impressive, there's some nice toffee notes but the hop character is unpleasant and slightly metallic.
A little thin, especially seeing how malty this is.

Poured a ridiculous head that didnt subside making it a little tricky to drink, but that's cool. Usual suspects are their in the aromas, citrus, grapefruit and a touch of yeasty spice too. The malt bite kicks in quite hard and lingers for a while which isn't necessarily bad. A solid beer and I'm enjoying but it's getting hard to get excited over these kind of beers lately. There's just so many.

Once again another suprise from my mates fridge as i toast another converted micro fan cheers, this beer pours a cloudy orange, amber hue nice looking with decent carbonation that leaves a fast vanishing one finger head which leaves a ring of head and subtle lacing,it has a passionfruit and tropical aroma to it which is very enticing,it has an average mouthfeel to be expected for the style with a big hit of pine driven hops that is pleasantly balanced out with the malts to make this beer not bitter at all a very easy drinking that would recommend.

a) Cloudy orange/pale amber. Nice, fine off-white head, bubbly, hazy.
s) Bread & caramel hints, overtly tropical fruit with citrus hints.
f) Spicy/seed flavours initially. Subtle waxy, floral notes. Tropical fruit again. Medium bitterness.
m) Slightly astringent, medium body. Slight tingle.
d) Similar to Fat Yak in a way, probably the spice & seed hop influence.

Pours a cloudy orange-gold color with a decent amount of foamy head that takes a while to disappear. Smells heavily of citrus and passionfruit and a tiny bit yeasty. The taste is fairly sweet with a nice hoppy bite at the end. There's also a hint of passionfruit in the flavor. The mouthfeel is very creamy and thick, especially for a pale ale. Overall, it's a very drinkable beer, and wouldn't mind having more of it.

Pours a murky amber orange in colour with a firm white head that persists.

Very strong fruity hop aromas mix with some yeast and bread notes - greapefruit, melon and other tropical notes. Yeast aroma increases with time. Very nice.

Palate is fruity with some maltiness on the finish. Bitterness is a little tough, throwing it out of balance somewhat.

A little thin on the body which is masked by an overly carbonated mouthfeel. Far too many bubbles in this.

Great aroma, ok palate, crap mouthfeel. Out of whack bitterness and carbonation reduce the drinkability of what could be a good drop.
