Great store, excellent service, great range of products, and the kicker is better value in homebrewing than buying from a bottle shop. Dave makes good suggestions and carries quality products.
Bought just a beginner kit from him and have been quite happy. The range of malts, hops and yeasts are quite impressive. Only real negative is that the shop is a bit small. That is not a bad thing at all though. A better range of premade mixes than what you would find in a USA store.
Did homebrewing in the USA before moving to Sydney and have been treated better and have received better service than the stores I have been in the USA. The value of the kit was far better than what I have gotten in the USA. Spent $99 on a kit and got more than I would have in the states.

On the strength of the reviews of this place, I went to check it out when I started homebrewing about a year ago - and I agree wholeheartedly with what everyone else has said.

This is a great place, with an excellent range, and Dave is always happy to have a chat, whether it be giving advice to the newbie homebrewer, or sharing a homebrew yarn or two.

Dave Gumm is a man passionate about what he does, and it shows in his store - and excellent range of malts, hops and yeast (he stocks White Labs liquid yeast), and the starter kits are much better value than what I've seen elsewhere. I went to buy a second fermenter from Brewcraft Rozelle a while back (Dave's happened to be closed on that day) and discovered that just the fermenter set me back as much as the entire starter kit had from Dave's!

An excellent place - the place to go for homebrew supplies, be you an amateur or veteran homebrewer.

This is the place. If you want honest, and I mean honest, opinions and advice on all things brew-wise, Dave's your man. And he practises what he preaches (make sure you grab a cold glass outta the freezer, fill it up, and settle in for a yarn or ten - ask him about the bloke who demanded the Saaz hops MUST come from Czechoslovakia...).
What's good about Dave is that there is no crap.... it doesn't matter if you're into kits or full mash, he'll tell you straight, and he'll look after you.
Look for corny kegs (unreconditioned, with new fittings), liquid yeasts, and 100g hop pellet bottles.
Forget the franchise outlets... this is the place.

This place is a real find. They have a fantastic selection of malts, hops, yeast and more. It's a little shop, but the owner, Dave Gumm, runs it with style.

They have the typical kits you'll find in other Aussie homebrew shops, but if you're looking for more, you'll find it. First of all, they have plenty of liquid yeast. Also, they starter kits that Dave put together are much better than what you'd get at Brewcraft.

Dave is also part of a local homebrewers club, which he told me about in a very friendly manner. This is the kind of place you visit once and decide to give all future business to.
