Another Quebec beer found at the SAQ.
Archibald cans have been pretty good to me so let’s hope this is even better! Can’t find a bottling date.

A- Truly beautiful ruby/amber with a big light beige head.

S- Mmmh. Seems like big bold English hops but I might be mistaken. They’re lemony with just the right amount of grassiness. Candy malt heading into honey territory with a fresh chamomile bouquet. Not my favorite smelling beer but a very nice one.

T- Not really like the taste. A lot woodier, especially towards the finish and after-taste. Very floral, almost like chewing on petals and perfume. Lingering bitterness.

M- Astrigency lingers as well. Medium to full bodied. Medium carbonation.

O- Smells great but the taste is a little rough with all the woodiness and astringency. I think this was $3.60 without taxes or deposit. So…. Worth buying again? Maybe another try but having a bottling date so I know it’s fresh would be nice.

Beer pours a dark amber. Extremely clear in my nonic pint glass. Minimal head with an aggressive pour. Fair to moderate lacing as you drink. Nose is grassy with some citrus, typical for the style; some notes of cracker as the beer warms up. Taste is a clean light bitterness, grassy hops with a significant malt backbone. Cracker and biscuit sweetness finish the taste along with a touch of tangerine. Easy drinking beer. Recommended if you're in Montreal or Quebec.

Can: Poured a clear light amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good average retention and limited lacing. Aroma of grain and cereal is very average. Taste is also dominated by some unrefined grain with light cereal notes and a light dry hoppy finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Definitely not the best creation form this brewery.

Served in a 3 monts beer glass

A: Deep amber color. Nice white foamy head, staying for a little while

S: Nice smell, pretty hoppy, fresh hops, citrus and grass.

T: Pretty good, intense flavors. Slightly sweet finale, but pretty good overall.

O: good brew from this quebec's micro. Would buy aain, in 500 ml cans.

16oz Can

Appearance – Clear copper colour with an average size fizzy beige coloured head. There is a high amount of carbonation visible and there is a good amount of lacing. The head lasted for around 3 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Malts, hops, caramel

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, caramel, and some light hops. There isn't really any citrus present but I can taste some notes of tea and some fruit esters. The beer finishes with malty caramel sweet aftertaste with a touch of hop bitterness.

Overall – Probably not something I'd buy again, but the taste was pretty good. It was well balanced and work well for a session beer. The main drawback would be the price... I think it was around 3.75$ for the can - which is too much for what you get.
