Atmosphere had a very cool southwest brewpub feel. Cozy bar with rustic overhead beams, decent patio also. I went on a night during a NBA Suns game. There was a good turnout, but not overpacked, grabbed a seat at the bar right away, enjoyed the local brew and excitment.

Had a nice chat with a local. Enjoyed a nice fresh Hop Knot IPA -awesome IPA for sure.

Quality seemed very fresh for a hoppy brew, food looked awesome and the local swears by the food. Noticeably clean lines, glasses, and bar. They rinse prep all glasses.

Service was attentive and cordial. Selection includes 8 house brews, 1 cask, and 1 seasonal barleywine.

Value was reasonable at $4 a pint, prolly a steal at $3 during happy hour.

I generally post-up at Scottsdale Plaza Resort and Four Peaks Bar & Grill is the closest place I know of to find wonderful, locally-made beer. The vibe is mellow and the perfect place to relax after a long day at the pool. As an added bonus the place is family-friendly and most of the kids seem better-behaved than most places. Four stars!

I stopped in here for dinner with my daughter after a long day of travel and unpacking. We were hungry and thirsty and this place hit the mark on both counts.

We got a table outside, enjoying the 70 degree temps on an early February afternoon. Service was a bit slow to start but the team approach of the service staff soon started clicking. Once we ordered a beer sampler and nachos, life was much better.

I guess the beers are all brewed at the other Four Peaks in Tempe. Whatever the case, the sample was 8 beers deep and generally a cut above the typical brewpub lineup. The Hop Knot was what I came for, and my favorite, but all the others were quite good, even the Peach Wheat, which my daughter enjoyed the most.

The food hit the spot for two very hungry travelers, but on the whole was not all that impressive. Pub grub menu is fine but execution was a bit sloppy (e.g. unmelted cheese on the nachos) and the food a bit greasy, even the grilled chicken.

I'd try the food again, and would go for the beer anytime. Looking forward to hitting the main location on a futre trip. This stop was perfect for this visit.

This is a great place in North Scottsdale to grab a beer and food while watching the game or relaxing without spending a fortune. Four Peaks produces quality beer, especially if looking for a local AZ brewery. Hop Knot IPA is my favorite beer of theirs, and the kolsch, Sunbru, is very tasty when it's over 100 outside in the summer. The food is nothing special but it's decent and around $12 for an entree. A relaxed atmosphere, this place is great for both beer enthusiasts and the average consumer alike. There needs to be more places like this in Phoenix.

Another stop on our trip to AZ; atmosphere is interesting, located in another strip mall in scottsdale, enter through main door with the bar infront and wrapping to the left with swath of tables behind. Outdoor patio has a few tables, and is where we ended up sitting since the weather was just right. Good setup with some space heaters and shades and tv.

Quality was average, beer served appropriately, outdoor seating was good atmospher but plastic chairs, food was ok and service was average.

Service was standard, nothing out of the ordinary, beer knowledge was not apparent.

Selection was good, they had their standard brews plus a few seasonals that were nice to try. Last time we were in AZ we stopped by the main brewery and the beers wer up to the quality that I had then.

Food was average, my brother, father and I all had standard fare that was ok, fish and chips were just average and the meals they had appeared the same.

value was reasonable, nothing was priced out of the ordinary.

This brewpub and restaurant was my last stop before my return flight home. Like most places in AZ, it is located in a strip mall. The space is quite large...extremely high ceilings, 2 floors of seating, indoor tables, outdoor tables, and a really long bar. The second floor balcony is built to hang above the first floor bar. This gives you a nice country saloon feel when sitting at the bar. The Hop Knot on cask was the best beer I found in Arizona. The food menu was fairly interesting and the quality was good for the price. The prices were very reasonable for Scottsdale. This is the place I'd choose to go to if I was with a group of friends / family and wanted to eat and drink. If I was just going out for some pints I'd probably hit up Papago.

I stopped in to this establishment a couple times. The options on tap are many, however, the styles are rather similar. I ordered a sampler and it was served with 10 to 12 pours, which, in and of itself is great. That being said, the styles were really limited. I got a couple pale ales, some darker ales, IPAs, lighter brews and a two seasonals.

I do suggest you make a stop here if you venture out in Scottsdale. The service is solid, the atmosphere is inviting, the brews are good, and the price is right.

I've only been to this establishment twice now. The general appearance is nice, but the parking isn't ideal. There are only perhaps 20 or so spots near the entrance, so one usually has to park at the adjacent parking lot. Having to spend the extra 20 to 30 seconds walking outside in Arizona heat is worth taking note of.

The inside is nice, and there is a quaint little patio out front which would be pleasant during winter months. The selection is a little skewed, but that's understandable since it's a bar and grill for the brewery. Their own beers are good, and you have the choice of purchasing tap, bottles, six-packs or growlers.

When I ate/drank at the bar, the service was very good, but if you go upstairs and drink/eat on their deck, the service is understandably a bit slower.

The food is very good, but a little pricey. I've heard that the quesadillas are not that great, but I can't speak for myself on that. The fries are great, as are the soft pretzels.

They have a seasonal peach beer right now that I think goes very well with the fries and works well as a nice summer ale. Next time I go I'll bring a pad and pencil so I can do a proper review of it.

I was in the are, so stopped by here instead of the main Four Peaks closer to the hotel. The beer is the same, and everything was fresh, so I only missed the beneficial corruption that comes from brewers walking about. This is a large restaurant, though with a second level of tables it didn't immediately register. Very large round bar. Bartendress knew something about the beer, which is something. Decent quality of the beers, with two IPAs and some seasonals, so I can see the popularity of the beers in the local scene.

This secondary location of Four Peaks is located in the extreme northern section of Scottsdale in a strip mall directly behind a Chuck-E-Cheese want-to-be. It's a great sports bar. A patio opens into the main seating room via a garage-door-style set of window panes. The layout maximizes the small amount of floor space and there is a TV on absolutely every wall in the place meaning there is nowhere you can't see one - even from the balcony that also features a pool table.

We walked in during a Minnesota Vikings playoff game, which was apparently a mistake, because this is obviously a Vikings bar. The place was packed with purple people eaters sporting Four Peaks/Vikings shirts.

I didn't get a chance to try the food as we left at halftime. But I was very impressed by the assortment of interesting pizza toppings. I definitely would have stacked one up with some spinach, pine nuts, buffalo mozzarella, portabellas, goat cheese, pesto and sun dried tomatoes.

The beers are - of course - the same as the main location. They haven't changed much since I visited last year. The Raj IPA is still the best choice along with a decent stout on nitro and a crowd-pleasing Scottish called a Kilt Lifter. Same scores for beer.

The service was bad that night, but I don't blame them, they were packed and we weren't eating.

Overall, I would come here to watch a game every single time.

Great great brewery.

I took my GF here and we had a great time. Although it was quite busy, we still had a great time.

I ordered the reuben and she had a burger. I also tried two of their brews, the Sunbru and the Knot IPA. Both great selections.

Their prices are very reasonable for a restaurant/brewery. We order 2 meals, 2 beers, a soda and a desert which came to 35.

This is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. They have pairing selections for every item on the menu, even the deserts! Depending on the wait staff you will get, your service will vary. Our waiter was very busy but we still had good service.

I highly recommend this place.

Hit this place for lunch today. Enjoyed a few beers on the patio and some great grub. This place looks great and has a great feel. I enjoyed the tunes for sure - nice mix of Dead, Panic, and some other groovy bands. Bar looks great and nice, clean amenities.

All the beer and food we got was high quality. Nothing of the hook, but good. Service was awesome - prompt and helpful.

Selection was good too - nice mix of bar foods, entrees, pizza, and more.

Food was awesome. We got a buffalo chicken pizza and a burger. Bruschetta appetizer was great!

Would def. go back soon. I liked the other location a bit more, but this was great. I loved it and had a great lunch!

Whenever I visit Scottsdale, it has become a tradition to pick up something from Four Peaks and take it back to the condo we stay at. I've really enjoyed getting their pizzas, especially the BBQ chicken, with a growler or two of beer (favorite is the Kiltlifter). The other food is pretty good and haven't gone there and had anything that I didn't care for.

The Scottsdale Four Peaks is pretty conventient off the 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright. There is a decent sized patio and when it's nice (when isn't it?), they open up the bay doors to get an open air feel. Watched the Titans/Steelers game the last time I was there and it was really easy to find a good place to see one of the numerous TVs they have there.

Good solid place if you just want to chill with a beer and some grub.

My second Four Peaks location to date. It is located in a confusing tangle of strip malls and access roads. I would have been well served to read todd1's review before going, his directions are better than my GPS. The front door is on N. Hayden Road not Pima! Typical brewpub: Dim lighting, exposed wood, TVs tuned to sports. Interesting bar area w/overhead seating dominates the interior of this place. This place has eight or so beers on tap, incl. one seasonal and a cask-conditioned offering. The food was one small notch up from the average brewpub fare. I had the Mediterranean White Pizza and would highly recommend it. I tried the Hop Knot - cask conditioned, I'd give it a C. I also tried the Hopsquatch Barleywine, I'd give it a C+. OK, maybe I am lame but my favorite beer so far from Four Peaks is the Kilt Lifter. If you are close to this place, it's a good stop, otherwise there are better places in the Phoenix - Scottsdale area.

A - Pretty typical. Dim lit, tv's playing baseball and such. Very southwest.

Q - Hard to describe, but def. a place I'd go back too.

S - Wait staff seemed pretty good. Right on the money with beer refills and reccomendations.

F - From what I sampled, this was the clincher. The calamari was delecious and my entree was also better then the trendy over priced mexican food I had the night before. As for the beer, I had both IPA's and there seasonal wheat beer. Could not complain about either.

V - For being out on business and stumbling accross this place, it was a very plesent surprise. Not the greatest of beer, but with the way the food panned out I'll be sure to check it out again if I'm ever in the area.

Location faces west (faces Hayden Rd. right before it reaches Frank Lloyd Wright). Modest looking bar with great craft beer on tap, including seasonals that rotate fairly often and cask ale always available on tap.

Food and prices are reasonable, but nothing spectacular. Highly recommend Hefe-Weizen, and IPA for the hop lovers. Pretzels are a great appetizer.

Service is significantly below average for this location. I've had horrible experiences maybe 1 out of every 3 visits, ususally being ignored at a bar table for more than 10 minutes upon seating, and sometimes at dining room tables too. I think they've gone too far in trying to hire young & cute females, rather than people who have good skills as servers.

Visited on Sunday April 12th for lunch.

Atmosphere was very nice. Inside has high ceilings with plenty of seating. Outdoors we had a semi-shaded patio. Big screen TV showing the Masters tournament.
Quality is good as the food was fancy brewpub and the beers are pretty solid.
Service was very good on this day as the place was maybe half full. Steven was cool and had decent knowledge of the beer.
Selection of food and beer was good. I believe there was a choice of 8 beers and there was a decent menu to choose from.
Food was good as I had the Carne Adovada which was spicy but not overwhelming. Da Boss had chicken strips which were good.
Overall value was reasonable as we had 5 pints @ $4 a pop and two entrees just shy of $20. I was fortunate enough to pick up the last case of Hop Knot which is there wonderfully pungent and tasty IPA.

Q - I only tried the Kolsch and the Pale Ale but both were tasty

S - sat at the bar and had multiple bartenders checking on me and refilling my glass

S - All that you can ask for: Stout, Pale Ale, Wheat, IPA, Kolsch, California Common. They also had a cask offering.

V - Very reasonably priced. I recommend this place to people who enjoy good beers and seek a place that is family friendly.

Living nearby, I've driven by this place 100 times and never seen it. It has almost no visibility from the road. I was surprised when inside though. It's got a warehouse brick and wood loft feel with dim lights. It was pretty cozy for what what you find in Phoenix. We noticed a lot of college age folks which is unusual for North Scottsdale, as opposed to the Tempe location obviously. We were there fairly early though and there were also families there. No business people as it was during the holidays.

The beers were very good. I had the Hop Knot IPA and Raj IPA. Both were excellent.

Service seemed a little distracted but got our orders right and was there pretty much when we needed help.

Beer selection was good. I was impressed that they had two IPAs on tap, one English and one American style. Kiltlifter and 8th St Ale get pretty good distribution in Phoenix so I was less interested in ordering those.

I was pleased with my burger and fries and my wife liked hers as well. Best of all, we got out of there with dinner, three beers, and tip for $40 even. In North Scottsdale that is something.

In summary, I wouldn't drive across town if it is out of your way, but if you are in the North Scottsdale area for work or recreation and want a casual place for dinner where a beer geek will be happy, check it out.

Part of a large shopping complex, I drove by it twice before finding it - they had the sun shades lowered in front of the patio, giving it an "under construction" look at first glance.

Inside was bright and clean, with sort of a Pueblo-meets-sports-bar look. Tried the Hop Knot, Raj and Kilt Lifter, all of which were quite good. They had a cask offering, but I didn't have time to get around to it. The reuben was huge and accompanied by a large side of fries. Although the atmosphere was a bit like a chain establishment, it was comfortable and friendly.

Four Peaks is not to far from a place I work, so some nights we head over for happy hour. The late Happy Hour has excellent deals on appetizers, but the regular menu is pretty reasonable too.

The wait staff is pretty good, and they take care of you. It is a good place to go with friends, but there are lots of big screens around if your just wanting to watch a game. The crowds are usually pretty mellow, and probably the most unpretentious in Scottsdale.

There is a really great patio too, and sometimes they open up a large rolling door so its all open.

The downside is parking: Sometimes the other clubs and eateries in the area tax the parking lot... But it is minor if you don't mind making a few extra steps.

Although best known for Kiltlifter (Scotch Ale) and 8th Street (ESB) that are bottled and distributed throughout Arizona, Four Peaks is a neat little brewery with two locations in the Valley of the Sun (Tempe and Scottsdale). During my visit, I tried the sampler and two seasonals. Hop Knot (IPA), Hopsquatch (Barleywine) and Winter Wobler (Strong Ale) were note-worthy. There were two cask conditioned beers on tap including the above mentioned Winter Wobler. I would definately recommend stopping in to give Four Peaks a try if you are in the Phoenix area.

It is very difficult to brew a good beer with hard water. Every beer I tasted had a copper taste to it, like I took a sip of beer with a 9V in it. The staff has no idea how to brew, what the difference in beer is, not use to that. PAC NW take pride in their beer, this seemed to be more of a "socialite" place to me. If you expect a warm welcome you won't getit here unless you are the "socialite" type. I have not had many experiences with brewpubs in the area but I hope they are not all like this one. These guys need to work on it and so does the staff, there is more than looking pretty when it comes to serving, know your beer and your product. The food was good, place was nice but the beer and service was mediocre on its best day.

Found this place to located very close to the place I was at for a business trip. The directions on the web site are awful, and we drove around the worst laid out strip mall I have ever been in in my life. Finally one sign had the Four Peaks listing, so pulled in, then we couldn't find any close parking. Finally found a spot and walked to the pub.

Nice atmosphere here as there is a large outsdoor seating area, that opens up into some indoor seating. Inside is large and airy, and a huge bar is on the back wall. Over 20 stools are almost all full when we arrived.

9 beers on tap during my visit - Kiltlifter Scottish Ale, 8th Street, Hefeweizen, Hop Knot IPA, Oatmeal Stout, Raj IPA, Sunbru Kolsch, Arizona Peach Ale, and the brewers special was Hopsquatch Barleywine. The beers we had were all fresh and ranged from average to good quality on the flavor front. There are also 6 packs and growlers to go.

Food was also very good as the appetizers and burgers we had everyone enjoyed. Menu is typical pub grub with a southwestern slant. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all this was a very enjoyable visit, and if you are working in the large corporate area just off I-101 and Paradise, you should make an effort to try this place.

I was in Scottsdale on business and wanted a fresh brew before going home to NJ. Found this place on Beerfly and figured I would give it a try. I had been hiking in Squaw Peak Park all day...I did the summit trail and the two of the base trails. I was whooped and parched. Asked for a table for one and a Kiltlifter. My day was complete. I was well hydrated so the malty rich Kiltlifter was just the ticket. Foodwise I enjoyed a somewhat vinegary chicken caesar salad that had way too many croutons but was decent enough and reasonably priced. With all the meals that I either skipped or ate in the form of a Clif Bar I tossed a Glass and a T-shirt onto my corporate tab and was still under thirty-five with a tip.

I will gladly go again and found the wait-staff attentive if not knowledgable. Good brew, good prices, nice T-shirt.
