Poured from 750ml corked and caged bottle into Globe glass.
A. Pours about 1 finger head. Good retention. Not a lot of lacing. Color is all black. Head is a moderate tan color.
S. Smell is all bourbon barrel stout. Lets see there is molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon, alcohol.
T. Coffee, milk chocolate, roasted malt, espresso, molasses. Lot of coffee flavor going on then a bit of vanilla, and some oak. Smooth. Very easy driking barrel aged stout. Even more really nice vanilla flavors come out as it warms
M. Medium full bodied. Has a pretty nice creamy texture, but not full on chewy. Medium carbonation.
O. Overall this is a pretty delicous bourbon barrel aged stout. What can I say, but I am a sucker for a well done barrel aged stout that can bring out nice vanilla flavor. This beer does the trick. Really looking forward to trying the Decadence and Framboise. So far I am impressed with Fitger's.

A huge thanks to Jeff for this one. 750ml corked and caged bottle into a Grrrz teku. #46/500. 2014 vintage. Shared with schen9303.
Pours ink black with no head and minimal lace. Soy sauce, vinegar and oxidized dark fruit on the nose. Very mellow. The taste makes it clear that this one is far over the hill. Booze, soy sauce and vinegar that's all that's present now. Ok but really oxidized. Like oak cardboard dipped in the aforementioned flavors. Boozy, heavy and lifeless on the palate. Slick and oily but it doesn't quite work with the flavors.
I'm super grateful to have gotten the chance to try this but its way past its prime by this point. Hoping I can get a sample of a new batch if they ever make it again!

Thanks to Andy, 2012?
Pours a nice creamy fizzy dark smaller head that fades fairly quickly, pitch black long legs.
Nose brings big dark malt, mild caramel and fudgey cocoa, hint fluffy nougat, mild vanilla barrel and cocoa, dark choc, hint if booze, old malts and hint oxidation.
Taste brings dried sweet syrupy malts, booze warmth, fruity esters, mild rancid like roasted dark malts, little fluffy nougat and syrupy roasted charred dark malts, acrid roast, bitter char, etc. No real barrel. Acrid sour cherry thing, oxidation.
Mouth is fuller syrupy, decent carb, little booze.

Thanks to Andy for sharing this bottle, 216/500...2012? vintage
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black hue with a thin mocha head that fades quickly to leave thin wisps and a light halo.
S - Aromas of possible oxidation, old stale bourbon, old chalky chocolate, dusty wood.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, loads of char, old barrels, acrid roast, old soy sauce. Just a hodgepodge of off flavours.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, bit heavy and syrupy.
O - Overall this beer was cool to try but certainly mediocre. Not sure how this would have been fresh but yah, ehhhh
