Had a 10 oz glass form the tap, though I'd have liked to try it on cask. This mostly clear red ale was a bit beyond an English pale ale. I think the sign said 5.1% abv. There's was a fruity and toasted white bread malt character and mild spicy hops in the finish that had a little citrus to it. The aroma was all malt-dominated, but a good mix of mellow malt and esters. All in all, an interesting and easy-drinking beer. Check it out. (435 characters)

Originally rated February 4th, 2006. On tap at the brewpub. Pretty thin aroma. Good oaken appearance. Very crisp. A little weak on the edges. Tends to dissolve too quickly across the palate. Delectable malt, backed up by a well done hoppy finish. The strength of this beer is underlied by the sweetness and so it can creep up on the drinker. (341 characters)
