The appearance is a translucent black color with no visible activity. The head is ok just right really nothing spectacular. The taste is just dead one for a bock very tasty, good malts. Just a very nice beer if you see it at Fitger's make sure to have a bit.

Originally reviewed March 12, 2005.On tap at the brewpub. Deep auburn pour with light tan head. Reasonable lacing. Strong fruit and malt aroma. Rich, creamy caramel and malt flavors with a dry oak smack. Palate is intensely satisfying. Crisp light finish with nutty brown aftertaste. A top bock for sure.

A decent workman like bock...it is very smooth and has clearly done its time lagering...surprised on the ABV(higher than I'd have guessed)...nose and taste is malty but not overdone (this done not border into doppel territory at all)...I got a little pear like fruitiness on the nose and the taste in addition to the basic bock flavor profile..
A decent beer that may be a little overshadowed right now by the strong lineup of bocks just released...solid in its own right though..
