Poured from growler into pint glass. From 7/6/11 tasting notes.
A: Pours a slightly hazy sunset yellow-orange with 1/2 inch white head. Some lacing.
S: Very aromatic. Loads of sharp pine, pineapple, and citrus hops. Hint of honey and floral note.
T: Very sharp and bitter hops. A bit much for me, but hopheads would rejoice.
M: Very sharp and bitter hop feel. Light-medium body (drinks heavier than ABV). Mildly soft and oily too.
D: Very enjoyable, but the high hop content limits the drinkability for me. A nice summer brew.

A: Crystal clear light orange/dark yellow with a small white head. Good lacing/

S: Sweet oranges, citrus and a bit of pine hops. A bit of tropical fruit too.

T: Fairly bright and citrus hops up front. Some sweet fruity and orange flavors as well. Decent malt backbone comes next, still finishes fairly bitter.

M: A bit on the thinner side. Average, yet softer carbonation. Feels slick.

D: Pretty good drinkability for an IPA. Pretty solid, but not as good as there El Nino.

A-Deep golden color..../1/8 inch soft white head.

S-Big pine element....also some sweet mandarin oranges and pink grapefruit.

T-No shortage of hops in this one. Begins with a sweeter citrus hop flavor...then a grapefruit rind element takes over and finally a rough edgy pine hoppiness...Malt balances nicely and makes this a nice hoppy drinker.

M-Medium bodied...feels substantial.

D-It's easy to take these great IPA's from Fitger's for granted. This is an IPA with a lot of things going for it. It really has about three dimensions to its hoppiness...perhaps a little rough around the edges overall but if you like hops you should like this one. Reminds me a little of Masala Mama from Town Hall actually.

Had this on 2013-06-15 in Duluth, MN at Fitger's (from tasting notes). Note this is not the normal Superior Trail IPA since it was done in cask with mangos.

A - Hazy dark peach wih a 1-finger white head and good lacing.

S - Dank. BIG mango. Light pine and hop floral. Very aromatic.

T - Hop forward. Mango flesh. Quite bitter. Light roast. Finishes much like it starts with some mango flesh yielding to lingering bitterness. Dry not sweet.

M - Medium body and light carbonation. Creamy, resinous, prickly.

O - Very nice. Tons of mango and plenty bitter.

Poured into a Pint Glass

Appearance - Clear Golden Color with a 2 finger head with some decent lacing. No carbonation to speak of after the first 30 seconds.

Smell - Piney & Citrus Hops, Grapefruits, Orange Peels, Toffee, and Malts. Very Piney Smelling IPA, how appropriate considering it's from the North Shore. Very rich smell nonetheless

Taste - Piney Hops, Resin, Grapefruit, and Malts. Very Rich Piney and Resiny flavors, perhaps a little too much so.

Mouthfeel - It's light and has no carbonation to speak of. Feels a bit watery but easy to drink nonetheless.

Overall - Despite some flavor imbalances, this is a solid IPA. Worth checking out if you're in the Duluth area!
