Pours dark purple with some reddish hue with a small layer of pink foam and some lacing.

Tart berry and vinegar are the predominant smells. Maybe a bit of bretty funk too. Smells more sour than most Upland lambics.

Taste is also a little more sour than I'm used to from the fruit lambics. Very tart blackberries that tastes almost jammy along with some vinegar and bretty funk. Very tart and puckering.

Medium bodied with good carbonation. This one didn't gush on me at all. Very dry tart finish.

Definitely one of the better fruited lambics. I put it only behind Kiwi. Slightly better when fresh. Although a lot of that jammy goodness was still here, vinegar has started to take over a bit more now. I loved the sourness in the flavor although drinkability is a bit low. I was reaching for the tums after splitting a bottle as my stomach was not agreeing with my taste buds about the deliciousness of this.

750ml bottle from the 8/2013 release, batch 8-10. Poured into a Hill Farmstead stemmed glass today, 3/11/2014.

App- Pours a hazy copper-brown body, less than one finger white head that dissipates quickly into a thin film, no collar. No lacing.

Smell- Blackberry tartness and a ton of lactic yogurt scent. And smells stomach-churningly sour, though not as sour as the Kiwi Lambic. Promising, but not overly so. Not a lot of funk.

Flavour- This is stomach-ulcer-level sour. 8, maybe 9/10 in terms of vinegar sourness here. No funk to be found, a nice blackberry tartness that doesn't come close to cutting the acid here.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, creamy and nicely carbonated feel on this. Very dry and sour, with an acidic & dry finish. My intestines are disintegrating despite the use of Tums immediately after drinking this beer.

Overall- It's good, but not great. And its only good if you like sourness to overpower the fruit and funk that should be present in spades in any lambic. This is the last Upland sour I'm going after, and I really can't recommend trying more than a few- Sour Reserve is the only one I'd recommend going for, really.

Taste light tart fruit, big blackberry and juicy blackberry like pure blackberry, little stem tannin, tart acidic bite, nice sour and blackberry, not super funky.
