Had on-tap at the Indianapolis Colts Grille in downtown Indy

A: Straw-yellow with a bubbly 2-finger head that recedes quickly

S: Floral hops and cereal, with hints of pine

T: Grassy-hops and sweet malt, there is some earthiness here that I don't really care for.

M: A fuller-bodied pilsner with nice carbonation, it leaves behind an almost buttery texture in your mouth.

O: Good beer. I wouldn't say it's phenomenal, but it's worth enjoying with a burger or some wings.

Ordered on draught at Fire by the Monon in Broad Ripple, IN

Aroma: Grainy cereal, hay, herbal/floral hop aroma, any a light honey sweetness.

Appearance: Dense two-fingered snow white head lasted the trip to my table, and then some. Excellent lacing. Golden-straw colored crystal-clear body.

Flavor: Hay and light honey, followed by balanced herbal hop flavor, and a bitter, but not overwhelming finish. No DMS or acetaldehyde, which can be a tall order for some other small brewers' pilsners.

Mouthfeel: Crisp carbonation, medium-light body. More substance than other domestic US examples I've tried.

Overall: I was very pleased with this one. For starters, the appearance told me the beer was not only fresh, but also well-made (head retention & clarity). While the hop flavor was more subdued than imported Czech pilsners, the hop flavor was pretty decent,, and the beer was refreshing. This is a hard style to do, and Upland does it well. I'll definitely be ordering it again!

Had on tap tonight at The Mark....

A- Poured a golden yellow color..very clear too. One finger white head showed low retention. Light lacing on the glass that falls back into the glass.

S- Hops show upfront at first with a bitterness. Nothing over the top but just there. Some light sweet malts in the middle with a touch of veggies as well. The ending is a blend it seems like the two. Nothing big but a good smelling beer.

T- The hops come through in the front iwth a light bitterness. The malts in the this beer are a show of light and sweet. The hops in this beer come back for a bitter bite to the end with a light floral hint to it. A nice tasting pilsner that hit the spot style wise.

M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the beer. Light malts left on the palate with a hoppy flavor in the aftertaste. Alcohol not very drying on the palate. Flavors were crisp and clean with a perfect balance.

D- This beer is highly drinkable. There flavors in this beer make it very enjoyable. The ABV makes this beer almost sessionable. Upland seems a hit and miss for me but this one hit dead on.

Sampled today at the brewpub.

High clarity orange color, some lacing. Mild malty aroma, vaguely sweet. Clean, bready malt flavor with a mild hop bitterness. Light crispness, although it could use more carbonation. A simple yet tasty summer session beer. A great transition beer for macro drinkers.

Have had many times before, but never done a review. On tap at The Rail.

Pours clear medium straw. Small foamy white head.

Spicy noble hop aroma and some grains.

Crisp hops at the front of the palate. A little grainy sweetness mixed with the hops after.

Light bodied medium carbonation.

Nothing earth shattering, but a very solid beer when I feel like something light. I wish they'd bottle this one over some of the other stuff I don't like as much.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours a nice light golden color with a white head and some pretty good lacing. Nose brings forward a good amount of sightly spicy and floral Noble hops with some grain. The taste is straw and grain with a bit of hoppy bitterness. Light mouthfeel with good carbonation. A bit plain in the end, but is certainly easy drinking.

On tap at upland

A: The color of straw made it into the glass, small head little retention.

S: Sweet, mildly fruity

T: Tastes ok to not really very good, biscuity bread, and just not a good sweet flavor as compared to the smell.

M: It's light and it's smooth, but it's just very similar to the feeling one gets from bud light, i know it's a thinner bodied beer, but I don't like the feel

D: Won't have it again, but easily a pint or two could be enjoyed if you like it.

On tape at Upland.

A: Clear golden yellow color.

S: Can definitely smell the hops with some sweetness.

T: Hops up front with some sweetness in the middle and finishes with a slight bitterness.

M: Nice, light, and crisp. Average carbonation.

D: Very drinkable. Good taste, good mouthfeel. Definitely worth repeating in my mind.

Quite impressive. The brewery seems to hit the mark on the classic German Beers. The Pilsener begins with a bright straw color and active carbonation. A loose knit head keeps the beer proper all session long while offering mild lacing. Aromas are simple and alternate between fully-attenuated pilsner malt and sharp, grassy hops. Low on the grains, vegetal, and fruit character. These attributes flow right into the flavors. Emphasis on the hop bittering and flavor over-plays the soft malts just slightly. Medium to light body throughout, lifted off the toung with the prickle of carbonation. Finishes clean, dry, and with a mild lingering hop bite.

Came out a great deep straw color with a nice head and nice lacing. Has a great crisp scent, very malty with mild hop overtones. Taste is great, nice and clean with a sweet start and a nice mildly bitter aftertaste. Goes down great with the added bonus that some of the profit helps the Sycamore Land Trust.

A - A very nice deep golden straw colour with a decent white head.

S - Very faint aroma slight sweet and grassy.

T/M/D- A very refreshing and crisp pilsner with a hint of spice. It's fairly sweet throughout but finishes with a nice bitterness from the hops.
