750ml bottle from 6/2013. Thanks Chad. Poured into a Hill Farmstead stemmed glass today, 2/27/2014.
App- Pours a very hazy, straw yellow body. Very, very hazy for a "lambic". Comes with a one finger head that dissipates fairly quickly even for a "lambic". Not much lacing. I also got the last pour from the bottle, and there appeared to be a single kiwi seed floating in the beer..
Smell- Holy acid. This smells so damn sour- with a lot of lactate and vinegar. Even a bit of nail polish remover. I don't get any kiwi fruit qualities whatsoever. Still perversely, I am actually enjoying the smell on this one a lot.
Flavour- This is bracingly sour. Easily 10/10 sour. It's eating away at my intestines right now. In terms of palate, similar qualities to Upland Sour Reserve #3- lactate, vinegar, wheat, lemon juice. Except there is no clear kiwi characteristics to be found here.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, perfectly carbonated. Its just that this beer is disintegrating my intestines, otherwise it would rate higher here.
Overall- The most sour beer I've ever had. Damn, 10/10 sour easily. Beatification and Sour Reserve #3 are a lot more complex and interesting while delivering that 8/10 sour quotient here. Its disappointing that I'm not really getting any kiwi fruit qualities. This is not necessary to age at all, I can't imagine how sour a 09 Kiwi is right now...

A - Dark golden color with a few floaters on it with a small white head
S - Sweettarts and white vinegar. Slight kiwi fruit presence. Slightly reminds me of sauerkraut 4
T - Lemon, white vinegar and sweettarts up front. Slight kiwi presence in there that shows up but doesn't cut the tartness.
M -Not that much carbonation but slightly prickly from the tartness. Lingering dryness in the finish
O - Really tart lambic from upland that reminds me of Sour Reserve with a hint of kiwi to it
