This PA came out with a nice amber, slightly orange appearance. It had a good scent, slightly hoppy, but not overpowering, but nothing great, either. It had a nice, mildly hoppy flavor, but actaully ended up with a slightly sweet aftertaste, which I found unique in a PA. It goes down nice and is definitely worth a try.

This is good...better than okay......come on raters!!!.....pretty good stuff... sweet/malty yet hoppy balance. .....also light at 5%ABV. This was a fun choice from a sampler 12 pack I got today from the store.

Following a recent marathon that I raced, my and my wife's families all got together and went to Upland Brewing Company for dinner. Dad and I got there first so we decided to go ahead and grab a beer while we waited. Naturally, we went for an Oktoberfest first. Then we all ordered different beers to pair with our meals. I can't remember which one of us ordered this one, but I got a few sips regardless.
This beer features a white head that is quite thin and dissipates quickly to a thin lacing. The beer itself is clear and a bright golden color with light carbonation visible. 3.75/5 the aroma is quite hop forward, mainly on the citrusy side (Citra hops perhaps?). Notes of tangerine, orange, and grapefruit juice really pervade. There is not much in the way of citrus rind, mainly just flesh and juice. There is a bit of light white bread that comes through, showcasing the light malt used. 3.75/5 The flavor is surprisingly sweet, although it is not a strong sweetness by any stretch of the imagination. White bread comes through initially before quickly transitioning to tangerine, orange, grapefruit juice, and finally a bit of citrus rind. The rind note really brings out the bitterness of the hops with a bitterness that is moderate and lingers for quite some time after swallowing. 4/5 This beer is light to medium bodied with a light carbonation burn up front that leads into moderate drying, with the drying lingering just slightly on the palate after swallowing. 4/5 This pale ale is really a well executed APA that does not go overboard on the bitterness. The sweetness and bitterness are well balanced and utilize various hop flavors very nicely. I would say that this one is quite sessionable, with or without food. 3.75/5
