Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at Hearthstone in Indianapolis. Poured into a pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy, bland red with a one-finger light tan head.
S: Grapefruit & pine hop aroma with biscuit malt. No particular depth to the smells here, nor do I find that it changes as it warms.
T: The taste follows the nose well, but neither is really particularly exciting.
M: Mouthfeel seems a bit on the thin side. Alcohol nearly undetectable. There is a mild bitter hang.
O: Not overly impressed with my first foray into Uplands brews. It's not bad, but strikes me more as a decent homebrew rather than an offering from a brewery with an up-and-coming reputation. This one gets an overwhelming "Meh" from me.

Pours a mostly clear amber red, yellowish head retains as a lacing.
Smells of brown sugar, buttered biscuit malt, and a mild nutty hop.
Tastes of buttered biscuit malt with a nutty dryness and a light dry vegetal hop bitterness.
Medium body with tingly carbonation on the roof of the mouth.
Above average ale, good flavor, very nice aroma, and drinks easy. Nothing spectacular but decent.

12 fl oz bottle
Served in a perfect pint glass
A - This beer is amber with golden highlights. When held to the light I see chunks of suspended yeast. It is topped with two inches of tan head.
S - I get a nice balance of caramel malt and floral hops.
T - It starts out with a slights caramel/toffee taste and finishes with a mild bittering.
M - Medium
O - Of the Upland sampler that I purchased, this is sadly the best. It is an average red ale. I will not be seeking anything from Upland unless it is a lambic.
