nice medium amber color with nice clarity to it and a small white head on top. Aroma of nice carmael malts and a dose of piney hops. Warming really brought out the sweet notes here, very solid. Nice medium body and very well carbonated. Strong caramel and bready malt undertones were very prominant with hops an afterthought but strong enough to really shine through in the finish. Mild dryness and a smooth, sweet note to finish

As far as looks go this one pretty much nails it as far as the body goes. It is deep ruby amber in tone. Head is light a beige tone that stands two fingers tall and fades slowly leaving a half inch wall of lace. Nose is a special mixture of sweet candied citrus and smooth but rich softly laced malts. Really wonderful nose here. The taste simulates the nose very well with a wonderful mixture of crisp rustic hops and nicely balancing malts. The flavor is so complete and pleasing I must say I was very pleasantly surprised by this one from Upland. The flavor of this on really falls in line with some of my favorite hoppy red/amber ales. The mouthfeel is of a beer you can drink and enjoy all night long. As far as true drinkability goes it just doesn't get any better then this.

12 oz.

Pours a mostly clear amber red, yellowish head retains as a lacing.

Smells of brown sugar, buttered biscuit malt, and a mild nutty hop.

Tastes of buttered biscuit malt with a nutty dryness and a light dry vegetal hop bitterness.

Medium body with tingly carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

Above average ale, good flavor, very nice aroma, and drinks easy. Nothing spectacular but decent.
