Surdyk's is effectively a wine store, as only two aisles (of the twenty or so in the store) are dedicated to beer. Fortunately, the beer selection is quite good--with all of the local suspects well represented (from MN: Summit, Surly, August Schell, Brau Bros, Lake Superior, Cold Spring; from the midwest: Tyranena, Boulevard, Bell's, New Holland, Goose Island, Two Bros) and a smattering of mountain-region beers. The import selection is especially impressive.
Overall, Surdyk's is a good, unexceptional beer store.
Not coming from the Twin Cities, I only visited Surdyk's because of the BeerFly recommendation. There wasn't anything here that I couldn't have found elsewhere in many decent MN and WI liquor stores, but it's a pleasant enough stop. They did have Henry McKenna Single Barrel bourbon, which I'd been looking for for a while and the cheese shop looks very nice...
