Transcribed from tasting notes taken at GABS@Taphouse

Clear straw-gold, barest hint of head, which is hardly surprising for a 60ml tasting glass..

Aromas of Pine-Lime Splice, super caramelised malts and lemon myrtle. Yummy.

Upfront toasted doughy malts with slightly woody notes on the periphery. Some nutty, buttery flavours nicely balance the mild bitterness.

Smooth and quite rich mouthfeel. Low carbonation makes it very drinkable.

Overall nicely balanced, sweet and seriously tasty. Had too few Maibocks to comment on whether it's true to style though. This micro is definitely going places.

Pours a pale gold colour, clear, metallic-looking. Head retains a thin crown and small, uninspiring trails of lace. A bit of tiny carbonation. Looks a bit bland, but not too bad.

Smells quite malty, with a good English toffee sweetness. Touch of brown sugar as well and wholegrain bread and a mild brandy booze note. Pleasant, strong and sweet aroma.

Taste is also very sweet and malty, with plenty of toffee and brandy snap that develops a decent boozey flavour on the mid, with a big medicinal edge. Sweet all the way through to the finish, with a big sweet biscuity flavour capping it all off. It's a malty, heavy beer, but really smooth; just a beautiful transition from start to finish as it swells and crescendoes. That's a good bocky palate.

Soft, silky feel helps it down, plenty of body but there's virtually nothing heavy about it, just a slight nip of booze as it goes down.

A cracker of a beer from the Hills. A surprisingly drinkable drop that I could serve with a dessert or just drink all night at a party. Look forward to this in bottles.

Collaboration with Red Hill for the Local's Australian SpecTapular. Brewed at Hargreaves Hill Brewery.

Pours a bright golden colour with a quickly collapsing head of minimal white foam. Bubbles come to the top and sit there like they're encased in jelly. Heavy and still. Looks good.

Nose is quite sweet and phenolic, lots of body and malt, with some sharper notes cutting through. Bit of yeasty bread character and a little faint earthy pepper. Really nice smelling Maibock.

Taste is sweet and round, with good, lightly roasted caramel and slight lemon candy flavours. Spicy bite on the back with a tickle of booze. A bit of green organics just to freshen the palate. No astringency, leaving the palate very smooth.

Really good stylistically, in my opinion, but with plenty of character. This was one of the standouts on the day.

Clear golden colour with a creamy white head.

Moderate malty aroma with some smooth, sweet esters.

Smooth yet crisp, rich malt profile with lots of sweetness. Mild fruit notes.

Moderately-full body with moderately-low carbonation. Good.

A nice, easy drinking beer. Very easy to drink for such a beer of this size.
